Hopefully this will bring the prices on the current ones down. The fact stealers still want $50k+ for a base model Sport is insane.

some of our Australian members can chime in on this but apparently there was a meeting with Nissan and the dealer network there last week. apparently dealer reps were told that the NISMO would be available by years end
Just spoke with my dealer.
Apparently Alfonso Albaisa was in town and has been doing the rounds down under.
Nismo is coming, no info on ETA

Apparently they were told end of this year release date but with the debacle of the current release I wouldn't be surprised if dealers don't want to say that to their customers.

Please ask if it’s getting a manual or auto only.

So I asked. and I kind of struck out. I got a hesitant non answer for what I considered not a very prying question. I followed it up by saying well the only reason I asked was in Japan the Sports resetting package is only available on the auto and I was curious if that thinking would be applied to the NISMO production car. I got a non verbal reaction of surprise and it just made me feel like I was on to something with that. take that for what you will. could have read it wrong

I asked about the new aero and different grill for cooling and wondered if the new GT4 concept with the larger mouth had any impact on testing for the new NISMO and I actually got an answer that indeed it did. talked about the wheels being the same as the GTR NISMO ect. So i came back with a lot less than I thought I was going to get but the take away was its coming way sooner than people anticipate.

Thank you for the update. At least if the car does drop this summer I’ll have my answer for sure soon.

Yeah so Like I said above my read of the convo was if it was both trans available then it wouldn't be news worthy just to casually say it since the regular Z is both already. I assumed it would be available in both but now I feel like there is something to this theory it might be auto only. best possible performance is the objective . If your just going for better numbers the manual would handicap it and it already exists in the standard Z for the enthusiast who wants it. So my hot take is it might be only auto.

Hopefully we will probably get an answer before the reveal as the test cars keep circulating. Just need an interior shot and it will be a manual and I will look like I don't know what Im talking about ?

@MCN1SMO, did you happen to ask about availability of regular Z's. They still seem so scarce.

@MCN1SMO, did you happen to ask about availability of regular Z's. They still seem so scarce.

So I did yes and at the end of the conversation I sort of understood where part of the problem lies at least in my opinion. So I'm showing this person my Z talking about how proud I am of it and about the struggle it was to get it. Of course there was an acknowledgement of this being a difficult roll out ect.

I had actually reached out for help from NIssan months ago about getting a Z. before anything could or couldn't be done I randomly found my Z on my own.

So I started talking about the NISMO Z and showing them in person how I have the #1 GTR NISMO in the US. I said it would be a real honor to have one of the first NISMO Zs to match it but I just couldn't and wouldn't go through what I did for my current Z all over again.

I got a reply about how the best thing to do is have a good relationship with a dealer to secure one. .....record scratch...... It hit me that at least at the high corporate level(non US based) I don't think there is an understanding of how the dealer system in the US works where up to this point they haven't been able to choose what Z's they get.

I started talking about how dealers get sent what they get sent and even if you have a relationship with a certain dealer there is no guarantee for example they could get a black NISMO Z and the ones who did get that exact car would have it for an astronomical price.

Most of the people I've interacted with at Nissan are responsible for the creation design engineering and marketing of the Z. They all have been generous with their time and really are excited about the Z and have a genuine interest in seeing it gets to the customer.

But these guys they all seem so far removed from the actual inventory supply side of the Z that they just don't have a boots on the ground grasp of some of the issues we have been facing especially at the dealer level as that just isn't in their world at all.

My take away is with most large corporations everything is so compartmentalized. The issues with the Z roll out affecting customers lie across many different areas and no one person within has the answer or maybe sees the big complete picture. So all the customer is going to get is statements about how they are trying to increase production ect like we have seen before.

It's sort of a catch 22. Things won't get better until a customer can order the Z they want but customers can't order the Z they want because of the scarcity and the fact things arnt better yet.
