Right on. If it was a real Toyota I would have owned one.The reality is that comparing the "Supra" to the Z is like comparing it to a BMW 3 or 4 Series. Most people that bought or will buy the Z is because they are real enthusiasts of the Datsun/Nissan brand. I might it bought a Supra if it was a real Toyota product, but they were also AT, So that was a hard pass. Doubt that the supposed new Celica is going to be a total Toyota developed product.
Is the Supra a reliable car? I have a 2009 X5 and I work on the car more than I seen my doctors and visit other dealers combined. Btw, I don't like doctors and dealers.
Slight faster on the street won't matter much ( a lot of the owners don't even track the cars). I driven the Supra twice during dealers test drive and both were AT.
I think this video had a solid comparison of the Supra against a modified Z. The difference is in the chasis. In stock form, the A90 is indeed faster than the RZ34. However, I believe that with the same level of modifications, the Z will not be inferior to the Supra. The Supra's bumpsteer is an unsolvable issue.
I think this is true. The Nissan Z is a good way to reconnect with the 80’s & 90’s Z’s from back in the day.I’ve driven the A90 Supra and yes it’s quicker, tighter handling than any new Z, but too cramped and just about everything inside and mechanical is familiar BMW, nothing about it ties to Supra’s JDM heritage. The Z otoh has all heritage built in, proud of that, and much easier and comfortable to drive everywhere. As previous owner of the OG 240Zs, that’s the best part of owning heritage.
This is exactly why I purchased mine. Old school genuine driver's car!I think this is true. The Nissan Z is a good way to reconnect with the 80’s & 90’s Z’s from back in the day.
