Excellent posts (both of them). Nissan through a bit of confusion into the mix with the 15% less 0-60 times. I, like you, don't really buy anything yet. What most people don't account for is the motor dynamics itself. It's not just another X horsepower and two extra gears! It's where the motor makes its power and the associated gear ratios.

There are SOOO many wild cards which is why it's fun to bench race LOL. Will it make more to the tire than the vr in the Q? What will the car weigh?

One thing is for sure, I am having fun trying to figure it all out :)
Supposedly the Z VR30 has an extra 45cc of displacement, we'll know in a few months once these cars get into the hands of testers and tuners

I'm gonna go on a rant here. I realize I'm being pedantic. Sorry in advance!

The new Z has an internal combustion ENGINE, not a motor. Electric cars have motors. It bugs me to no end to hear everyone talking about the new motor in the car. Not just on this forum, but nearly every youtube reviewer out there makes this same mistake.

People have been using engine and motor interchangeably for a long time, i.e. Motortrend!

I wonder if someone should speak to the surviving members of Motörhead?

I believe Europeans and maybe elsewhere outside of the US use 'motor' as is the case with 'bonnet'

Webster Dictionary:
: any of various power units thatdevelop energy or impart motion: such as
a: a small compact engine
b: INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
especially : a gasoline engine

So not worth getting bent about

It's ok to be pedantic, but not to be pedantic while also being wrong. All engines are motors, but not all motors are engines. Internal combustion engines are motors by definition.

Here, pinned at the top of this subforum:
https://www.nissanzclub.com/forum/t...ial-release-specs-pics-videos-wallpapers.418/
Go to the spec sheet, engine displacement is 3042cc.

Here at Infiniti:
https://www.infinitiusa.com/vehicles/coupes/q60/models-specs.html#modelName=Q60 PURE
Go to the engine spec drop down, it says 2997cc.
This really means one of two likely scenarios:

1. They changed the pistons...and let's hope they are strong
2. There is a difference in head design

Both of these are most likely good news. 45cc is a small amount, but could be a leading indicator for other positive things. We want Nissan to give us the best possible upgrade platform they can. Better pistons, better flowing heads, slightly larger turbos with the recirs...all positive.
