Hey all!
I’m the current owner of a beautiful 1973 Datsun 240z…but I’m looking to get out of vintage ownership and want a real weekend driver. I’ve decided to pull the trigger on the new Z.

I have two options in my area (all manual):
1) silver 2025 performance, ~52k
2) midnight purple 2026 heritage, 58.5k

I’m stuck!
- The silver is priced well, but in photos it looks sort of dull. Might make it more timeless and age the best tho (?). Definitely easiest to keep clean.
- Midnight purple has really caught my eye, but never seen in person. I kinda love it! But am worried it could be too “flashy.”
-Black is also an option but if I’m going to go with a “difficult to keep clean” car I might as well do the midnight purple.

Any silver or midnight purple owners out there have thoughts? Could use the help. Making the purchase this weekend!

Haha yes thank you! Love the enthusiasm! I’m heavily leaning purple.

That purple is going to be rare and highly sought after in the used market.

Absolutely get what you really want, that 6K difference (might even deal down on it) is nothing over 5-10 years! Solid Red wasn't my first choice but when saw it in person, soooo proper for the Z, willing to pay the premium. Good luck and report back.

I'm not a big fan of silver, however I did see a Nismo in person in silver and it looked pretty awesome with the red trim. That midnight purple would be pretty tempting though.

one thing to add, I know this from the cobra mustangs with mystichrome, it's damn near impossible to repaint these colors and have it blend properly if your trying to do a repair.
