How does the nismo compare? Looks pricey..

It’s on sale for ~$805 ($895 + extra 10% off + $25 off shipping or free local pickup) i noticed that price varies by dealership.

CZP specs hold or better than AMS specs. Both top tier. I'd go with either. Looks like I'll have to wait till near August...frig!

Thanks for everyone's input. All are good options. Mishimoto, Z1, Nismo, etc., are great.

This is how we know that marketing and perception rules all. People arguing over which aluminum radiator is “high end” vs those other “looser” brands 😆. Be careful of your selection! I heard that if you get the right one you will make 8000 HP but if you choose the wrong one you will blow your engine.

For reference, there were people (years ago) using generic universal fit heat exchangers on Q60’s and Q50’s and were having just as much luck as the guys running the big brand. And of course the guys running the big brand would constantly turn up their nose but guess what? They weren’t making any more power. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Point? Pick the one you like, and feel comfortable with, and have fun. At the end of the day it’s not going to matter and no one is going to care.

Capacity, quality, fitment, durability, demonstrated real-world performance, and manufacturer reputation were the primary factors in my decision-making process, particularly given my focus on repeated high-load pulls in hot-weather conditions where heat-soak mitigation becomes critically important.

With the key components of the build already centered around the AMS ecosystem — including AMS Cold Air Intakes, AMS Intercoolers, AMS Full Catted Downpipes, and AMS custom EcuTek tune, complemented by the AWE Touring Cat-Back Exhaust — the preference toward the AMS heat exchanger was neither whimsical nor based on blind marketing.

Rather, it was a deliberate decision rooted in component integration, thermal-management strategy, proven performance under sustained load, and AMS’s long-established reputation within the high-performance forced-induction community.

1:04:37 min why AMS charges more. From the owner himself.
