It’s funny how a car looks and feels visually. Even though I own an AT, I’d go MT in that car. Wouldn’t be a daily driver though. So I’d basically just get a Nismo and still have an AT. lol But that orange is a very old school sports car look.
The bumper really changes the feel of the car as well.

Do any of you have feelings about purchasing a say 2024 Performance A/T with 1000-2500 miles on it?
Just my $0.02 on this one, but when I have bought a new car part of what motivated me to go new was knowing I'd be the one breaking it in, and I'd do it properly. At 1000+ miles, that motor is basically broken-in, and if it was done solely at a dealership I'd have my concerns that it was potentially abused on a LOT of test drives and/or taken home by some lead-footed GM who probably didn't worry about keeping it under 4k rpm.

Personally, I'd keep looking, and don't be afraid to travel a reasonable distance to find what YOU want (and get the best deal)! A nice road trip to get acquainted with your new car can be a blast, and it helps you get past those break-in miles a little faster, too.

Thank you. I am coming to the realization that saving even $5000 on a previously owned car like this might be expensive in the long run. Not certain the promise of a warranty and a 115 point inspection would help if said lead footed dealer did rough house with the car. I appreciated the advice. My main salesman gave me a very solemn text lecture on the precise break-in procedure.

You only live once, if you like the car, buy it, and drive it the crap out of it.
Indeed. Thank you. My friend just reminded me that "if you don't fly first class, my kids will". I have been cautioned to be judicious for the first 500 miles which I will do.

I have owned Z's back to 1995 with the 300zx tt, and by far the new Z is my favorite. Baby it for the first 500 miles, then you should be good. Not a bad idea to get an oil change at 1000-1500 miles, just to get some fresh oil after break in.

On it. Thank you for the advice. I have never driven a car that uses 0-30 oil.

I drove my new silver 2025 Nissan Z performance home today. 120 mile event. I drove my 2004 350Z touring convertible to the dealer this morning.

Thank you for all of the help. It has been an educational and expensive journey. This is not your father's Z. As mentioned there are many hold over features from the 350 and 370's.

The instrument screen is good, CarPlay works well. The car is indeed loud but less so than the convertible. It was a challenge harnessing the twin turbos while attempting to follow the strict break-in guidelines. I am so very happy that it is to me a very nice GT and a road trip or daily driving will define. There are definite blind spots but the camera which has been criticized does the job. The telescopic steering wheel is a definite plus. I notice a bit of a lag when I start from a complete stop.

The blind spot amber warning lights are terrific.

I cannot overstate how good the salesman at Avondale Nissan in Phoenix was. He is a true professional and owns an 800 HP heavily modified Nismo-2024. I saw it and heard it. A beast for the track.

Very pleased and I am looking forward to passing either 500 or 1000 miles so I can air it out. The seats are more than adequate when compared to my 350Z.

That’s great, I hope you got a good deal, I would have asked for a ride in the 800hp Nismo to clinch it  Cool to have a salesperson that actually knows something about these cars.

Indeed. I did a lot of youtube and internet research and asked some questions. He knew everything I asked. He is totally enthusiastic about the new Nissan Z. It's contagious. I got an okay deal but I am quickly growing to appreciate the purchase.
Silver, which is the color of my 2004 350Z, is not a popular color for the new Z's it turns out.

Enjoy the new Z! Glad you got to deal with Nismo Nick, I was thinking about buying one of his cars before I ended up buying mine locally. Again, congrats!
