Weird! If you watch the Nissan Z video about the LDW, it never mentions anything about a chime, just a steering wheel vibration…

I've been hearing rare, random chimes for a while. I hope the LDW is the cause, I haven't heard anyone else mention it

Per the GoogleBot the vibration is the standard (default?) warning method. Hard to believe I haven't noticed that. I'll get a little swervy on the way home to check.

Yes, steering wheel vibration is an intentional and normal part of the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system in all 2023-2026 Nissan Z models. The system is designed to provide a haptic (vibrating) warning to alert the driver when the vehicle is unintentionally drifting out of its lane.
  • Alert Types: The alert typically involves both a visual indicator light on the instrument panel and an intermittent vibration in the steering wheel. On some Nissan models, the driver can choose between a chime or a vibration, but the vibration is a standard warning method for the Z.

Tried mine recently, and it was chime rather than vibrate also. The '24 Owner's Manual confirms chime is warning method when activated.

Although it's not a huge deal to me, the $17K Versa has haptic LDW feedback (steering wheel vibration), and the Z doesn't. What DOES grind my gears is the $17K Versa has remote start...and the Z STILL doesn't.
Based on the perceived amount of attention Nissan put into development of the RZ34, I assume I should count my blessings it has power windows.

Yup. Turning this off. It's way too sensitive.

My frontier has the vibrating steering wheel and it's so much better. Just kind of feels like you are going over rumble strips but it's very mild. I leave it on. I wish the Z had vibration or an option for it.

The z does not have vibrating LDW. My 2024 pathfinder does, you can disable the haptic feedback and it will also steer you back in the lane if not disabled. I’ve never felt the z’s steering wheel vibrate at all?!
What video are you referencing? Does it legit show and says that the Z has it?
To be honest i live in an area that’s full of construction and lane re paints left and right, my LDW goes freaking crazy over the dumbest thing 🤣

Check the official Nissan Z video that is on you tube about the Z’s lane departure warning (LDW)…it states it’s a “steering wheel haptic vibration”.
I guess they messed up…
