I want some sound out of this car especially for easier take off in a 6MT. I've heard clips on YouTube but I want someone to chime in who actually has stock exhaust with deletes on their car.

I am trying to go cheap and I don't want the car to sound like shit. Plus, the gains out of a full exhaust don't justify the price tag.

I come from a long line of V8s and I find it hard to believe you can make a V6 sound good, but I'd like to know first hand from people what they think. I don't want to do this and make an expensive car sound like crap.

You can purchase the Z AT exhaust to replace the suitcase MT exhaust.

Or simply cut the suitcase out at a local exhaust shop and run straight pipes.

I did the A/T muffler swap. Made a nice improvement, still looks stock & no drone. I’ll assume there is little more volume with an aftermarket muffler delete over the A/T muffler swap.

i think you would need full down pipes + catback to get a major increase in volume.

p.s. - you do not need to cut off anything for exhaust mods - weather it’s muffler delete (aka axle back), catback, midpipe, or down pipes…

I did the muffler delete. Replaced that assembly with straight pipes. 2 bolts at the end and the hanger. Super simple. A little work to get the new tips the same distance out. I paid 300 bucks for them. I was actually a bit disappointed they were not louder. Before I did it I was worried they would be to loud. no lift needed their is enough room to slide under the back a few feet.

I honestly think its subjective as well. I did a muffler delete on my 6MT. I personally think its too loud and has too much drone for my tastes. Not to say it can't sound good, but I think Nissan V6's in general since the VQ era are predisposed to sounding bad with cheap exhausts.

At the least I'd add in some resonators to the muffler delete if you go that route. It's not crazy loud with the muffler delete but it isn't a great sound just running without one imho.

I am about to do it, I suspect it will sound ok. From the videos it seems reasonable. The turbos and cats do a lot to tame the sound by themselves.

I have the 9AT h pipe here in NJ. It has resonators. Interested? (9AT h pipe with resonators paired with the muffler delete....)

You have the H pipe and deletes or just the H pipe?

No thanks lol and that's not an h pipe
My apologies. I meant the stock section of pipe that goes in front of the stock muffler, that comes on the 9AT. Wasn't trying to pull a fast one.

I also have the AT muffler on my MT Z. Love the sound , not obnoxious at all but enough sound to make you happy.

What is 9AT? Is there different exhaust on the 6mt and automatic?
