dealer already ordered a new strut for me
Good!

Happens... Our Wrangler needed all 4 factory shocks replaced @ 15k miles and my C7 Corvette needed 3 of 4 by 45k miles.

What's your long-term plan, or have you thought about it? Are you planning to hang onto one or both indefinitely, or get rid of one/both at some point? The GTR could pad a retirement plan if kept out of harm's way.

pretty much have to hang on to the GTR for the foreseeable future as that true #1 production value is hard to realize at the moment in the market. Its not about the money thats not my priority but I would like to have the ultra rarity and nissan historic value properly factored in if/when the time comes.

As for the Z since I paid like 70K ( I got good trade in for my performance Z so its not as bad as it seems) for in 2023 and its worth like low 40's right now its not going anywhere for a while. probably hold on to it until there is a true next gen Z NISMO not just a newer version of what I have now.

Got a better look at the leak today while waiting on parts. I think think all of fluid is gone as there is a bunch of fresh fluid pooled up now in different spots. Im surprised I can't feel it really driving around town.

Where on the car is this? I don't have a NISMO, but thinking I need to check more things at fluid check time.

The strut .The Tube inside the spring has hydraulic fluid inside the manage a smooth compression/rebound. Somehow a seal at the top of mine either had a leak from the factory ( could have pinched on the install) or it just failed

got the strut replaced and new alignment

bad news is I had them adjust my window because of the famous door rattle. they adjusted it too low where I can fit my finger between the window and seal now also they made it worse. whats weird is one tap of the window down button and it goes away. so now I have to go back and get then to raise the window back. they scratched my tint too. so yeah should have held tight to my rule of never having the dealer mess with rattle stuff but I figured while I was there for the strut might aswell. :(

dealer felt bad they messed my window position up without fixing the rattle so they called and told me they ordered a brand new regulator to install friday

So strut replaced alignment checked and the window regulator was replaced for the rattle.

Just a heads up for anyone that is interested in getting that door rattle fixed..... Don't get the window adjustment as it's a nightmare to get back 100% perfect. They set it too low twice and it took me going back into the shop and helping them manually set it and lock it down . It's about 95% right so I will live with it.

Everything is fixed
