I haven't really noticed this but I don't use manual mode at lower speeds that often. Does it happen in both normal and sport mode? I'll be driving mine tomorrow and will see if it happens.

sport because I "think" in standard it will shift for you even in manual as if you just grab the paddle to go in temporary manual mode it wont really do it and will revert back to "D" you have to actually pull the shifter lever back from D to M then you go on throttle in 1-2 or 2-3 and it hesitates a bit like a torque surge and then pops into the next gear all the while your RPMS go up while its catching up. doesnt do it every time but its like it gets a bit confused. its not that bad and I think I notice it more just because ive been driving a DCT since 2008. my daily drivers besides the GTR have both been Nissan CVT JUKE NISMO RS and SENTRA NISMO. So honestly I havent driven a sporty but traditional torque converter slush box auto in a while so it might be more be noticing it than anything but at the same time occasionally shooting up to 5K before it shifts when im trying to shift right before 4K isnt ideal. like I said later gears its fine its just the really torquey first few it has just a little trouble with. drive around in D all day and you will never notice

One positive about the auto is in sport mode if you start driving a bit aggressive it will blip the throttle on downshift just like the GTR. Thought that was a nice touch

The Steering feels precise and has a good weight to it.
I'll second this. Compared to my G37, which did not have bad steering, with the Z, any little input to the steering results in an instant response. I like it, but it also demands that I be more careful.

And to add to that for autos the sport mode makes an actual tangible difference in steering feel. It's tighter and feels like it requires just a bit more input. So there is definitely a change in the motor assistance when you switch it to sport

Speaking of sport mode. If you are driving in just the regular D more drive on throttle and you want to switch to sport the RPMs shoot up when you it the button as the computer tries to instantly find a sportier lower gear to be in. So it's better to do it when stopped

Especially during the break-in period ?.

I feel the same way about SRM on the manual. It does a throttle-blip that could put you over the 4k limit.

I drove my Z to work today and played around with the manual shifting. All shifts were pretty much instant - in both sport and normal modes. No hesitation or any rise in revs or anything. I do have 2500kms on mine though (~1500 miles) so it's pretty well run in. I also don't have any of the 'whiplash' effect the other thread is talking about.

The blip on downshifts you talk about is nice. Especially now I have an exhaust on.

I tried mine again today and it really only happens repeatedly on the 1-2 shift when you are on throttle 3K+ RPM. you shift and its just a hesitation like its trying to manage the power. maybe I will make a video as its probably just something im noticing and normal to everyone else lol

I also dont have any issues on downshift whiplash either . mine are smooth with the nice blips

Sounds like a good idea, and those experiencing the whiplash should also try to post…the more people looking at things as they happen the more chance someone might be able to figure out what’s going on

The forum has up until now been all about getting a car, now it’s in a transition stage where is will mean owners can all help each other out ( or at least it will be if more people get their cars)

I did get my personalized plate ordered. just as I thought it was a 100% chance it would be available as you would have to have a Z already here in NC and be super nerdy ? "5BA-RZ34" should have it in a few weeks!

Got my 1st scratch aleardy as well. Some A hole who parked next to me in my parking garage. I ordered touch up paint through Z1 but still hadn't shipped.

How well has that touch up paint worked for you?

Got mine from Z1 too. I haven't tried it yet as I'm gonna have my detail friend look at it as there is a little marring of the clear that might need to be buffed first so I can use less paint.

I'm torn between the method of putting too much paint on and letting it dome up then buffing it down smooth. Or doing the Dr colorchip way where you sort of smear the paint then clean off the excess

Got my title in the mail from Ohio today almost a month later which is fairly quick I guess. Went and paid my NC taxes (more expensive than I thought? )and got it all transferred to NC so the final process of all that is now done. Time to really enjoy the car.

I've had the car more 1 day less than a month and I'm only at 322 miles.
