Does launch control need to be activated in order to use this feature?

Would hate damage a 2023 Nissan Z from poor shifting. Its also too cold in Illinois to launch the Z without wheel hop. Have yet to feel out first gear and have owned the car for almost 2 months now.

Sounds like launch control still needs to be engaged. Was hoping I could use it further through ECU tek.

Must be the only Manuel driver on here fml
Lol….manual driver here.
I actually did a hard pull out of first yesterday but got some wheel hop so I couldn’t stay in it. I told my buddy I was running against I didn’t think it has launch control (unless I don’t have launch control since I have a Sport)

Launch control can be engaged when in 1st, stopped, and engine temps are within ideal operating range.

You hold your foot on the clutch, then push the accelerator to the floor. The RPM will stop at 3k and the launch control will hold it there. You can then adjust the RPM with the cruise control up down button to increase or decrease in 500rpm increments. When you are happy you keep your right foot down and let the clutch in, as you do this the car will stop holding RPM and you will launch. Essentially its just a way to hold an exact RPM instead of doing it with your right foot.

When you launch in this way you are able to "flat change" which means switching gears without letting up on the accelerator. Probably not a good idea to make a habit of this due to additional stress on the drive train components, imho.

It does not include any fancy traction control so to get the ideal launch you still need to slip the clutch just right according to your traction and RPM and other conditions.

Thank you. From your discussion I'm assuming "flat Footing is holding down to the floor both clutch and accelerator
