Is it worth getting the Proto Z over the standard Z for resale value?

Been offered a Proto Z at normal retail, not inflated price.

Already have an order for a normal non-proto.

Not sure if it's worth paying the extra for different colour alloys?

Not IMO simply because there's really not many differences between the Proto and the standard Z. The only thing that would appeal to me about the Proto would be if I wanted a yellow car.

at the rate people are modding/hacking them up or will wreck them over the next few years...it might be?

if you keep it stock, accident free and low mile it would theoretically bring more money in the future...

what do you intend to do with the Z?

Could be worth more IF a) it's a Manual, b) kept totally stock, except grab any options only avail on the Proto, c) low miles, not daily driver. It's all cosmetic really, only a Performance Z underneath. Would be worth even more if that Ikazuki is ONLY on the Proto not on regular models.

I hate the black wheels trend. If the yellow color, yellow accents and getting bronze wheels is appealing, it might be worth it.
TBH IMO the Z is a bit too expensive above the Sport trim.
However, for me, doing something about the black wheels on a Performance trim may make the Proto price nearly worth it.

Absolutely not and furthermore buy a car for what you want, not what the buyers market might want in 5 years.

You can get the yellow without getting the proto. You can get the performance in yellow not the sport model

Literally be driven once or twice a week and kept in a garage.

We have electric cars and they literally give me sensory autism. Buying this as it just feels 1:1 - apart from that fake exhaust sound that apparently plays through the speakers?

If the Proto is kept stock, has several factory options, & low miles then it should bring decent resale. Twenty years from now, with the factors I mentioned it could very well sell for $100k+ at Mecum or BJ. If Yellow was an exclusive color to the Proto it would for sure bring even more.
