Ill keep it short and simple. My car has nothing but awe track edition exhaust. Fortunately it sounds great up until 4k rpm where it dies out and starts sounding like a vacuum cleaner which is probably due to the bottleneck on the downpipes. Now I wanna get lower downpipes and ams intakes, however, I plan on tuning in a couple months. Can I run one of the two mods safely (intake or ldp) with current exhuast no tune? And if so which would be safer to run till i can finally tune. Thanks,

You could probably get away with running lower DPs without a tune seen someone on YT "say" they ran it for a few months. Tune will maximize them obviously.

I would get the intakes, have them installed and then order the downpipes. Once you get the downpipes installed, install the tune. In my opinion, you will be opening the intake, and exhaust, and you could get some boost creep if you also do LDP"s without a tune and may have some issues with the stock ECU trying to put the car in limp mode. I have a mod path planned out. I did a upgraded heat exchanger and intakes, and plan to install the AWE touring exhaust. I am going to put some miles on it and enjoy for a while. Then, I plan to get resonated LDP's then will install the tune.

Could save the coin on intakes, and just run drop ins with, full Dps and a tune. The stock box isn't a choke point with stock turbos

It’s not, but the AMS does flow better and looks damn good, so why not get all the bolt ons knocked out,

"you could get some boost creep if you also do LDP"s without a tune and may have some issues with the stock ECU trying to put the car in limp mode"

no you will not get boost creep from just doing LDP, the upper is still quite restrictive and gives backpressure

it's highly not advisable to drive around with out a tune. I'd recommend booking your tune, then installing these parts just prior to getting int dyno'd

otherwise, just sticking to exhaust and intakes won't do much harm. just don't push it

i spoke with two tuners, both advised against an intake, LDP and full exhaust without a tune, due to the fact you could get some boost issues. I’m just relaying what I was told as I did my research.

Are you really in Qatar? Perhaps some additional cooling/intercoolers?

I have nothing else to add to what others are saying. All good options presented.

If you are choosing between intakes or LDPs for now until you are tuned based on safety - intakes first. Literally no issue. LDP/Full downpipes go ahead and get tuned right after.

Nah I dont plan doing all no tune, thats not logical. Just one of them with the exhuast while the other for the tune. Ill prolly do intakes and get tuned with the ldp at the same time.

Indeed I am. We have a small Z community here aswell but im seeing them more on the road lately. Heat exchanger already ordered and ready to install, im thinking of doing them at the same time as the intakes, it just makes the job easier.

I would do that if i am prepared to tune which I am not yet. I think ill install heat exhcnager and intakes same time. Then ldp with the tune.
