In the picture below you can see both the Z and 2022+ Pathfinder uses the same camera body and plug, but with a different mounting bracket. By removing the two small screws and swapping just the cameras this should work without any modification. People say the Pathfinder camera is clear and crisp.

Try it without damaging your Z, and let us know the outcome. Provide pics if possible.
Thanks

Supposedly the crappiness of the rear camera is the video processing ability rather than the camera. If not, this may be a good mod. The Z’s camera/video is pitiful, especially in low light.

It's absolutely not, not sure where you hear this, please watch this video of someone in japan upgrading the camera only:

The video quality is clearly much better than stock, but the FOV looks off (though some of this may be the aftermarket carbon rear panel they are trying to adjust the new camera for, note the stock camera was also key holed).

I saw this video yesterday, not sure if the quality improved with new camera . However they were trying to adjust it , it appeared to be off a bit.

Results of the video weren't remarkable, but I'd like to see the difference at night as it isn't too bad while the sun's up.

The manufacturer of multiple Nissan cameras is Jansite. They sell a couple of rear cameras commercially, but neither that I found look like the lens protrudes enough. The one for the current Frontier Pro4K looks like it would fit, but can't tell about the connector/wiring.

Anxious for someone to try this.

Hmmm, it looks like it it’s about the same size. However look at the plug end, the Z one looks wider.

Surprised no one posted this. Here is a proved fix. This is a post from The New Nissan Z page on Facebook by Brian Watford.

Ok… I’ll have the upgraded cameras ready to ship on or before 12/20! I setup a Google Form for those that might be interested. I will only have 20 cameras ready for this first round. We will plan on making more dependent on interest.

$250 each

Upgraded Camera
• Resolution: 1280x960 (=1.2 million pixels)
• FOV: 140° (H) / 80° (V)
• Sensor: 1/3-inch HD CMOS
• Low Light: 0.001 |x

OEM Camera
• Resolution: 632×480 (=300k pixels)
• FOV: 140.5° (H) / 95.5° (V)
• Sensor: 1/4-inch CMOS
• Low Light: 1 Ix

I think it's also the camera. Sometimes it's too noisy and/or takes a long time to autofocus. The vid decoder could also be very slow. But the infotainment systems main CPU is actually pretty good.
