Picked up my Z today. Just three things;

1. No body is going to be disappointed, it is a fabulous bit of kit.

2. If you didn’t get Diamond Black you made the wrong choice, and

3. If you got a manual, you are slower than me. 😂😂😂

But seriously, so far this is my favourite of the three sisters. It might just be my goldilocks car.

I’ll agree with the first point. As time dragged on it could have been easy to start to take notice of all the detractors out there. I reckon for the money the car is amazing.

On the second point, let’s see how we feel when we park under fluorescent lights in a year from now. Have to agree the black does look fantastic when clean and new.

Third point: All the tests would suggest you are correct, but I’ll still take my manual every day.

This really is a Grand Tourer. Sat at 120kph and only drank 6.9l/100k. Seats are Uber comfortable once you get them set up. Whilst not a lot of tech, it’s exactly what you want from this sort of car.

Suspension is on the softer side, however spirited driving on the NSW country roads was very enjoyable and I wouldn’t want it firmer unless it was on a track. It has a slight weight transfer on initial turn in, however feels very planted. If this car had a multi mode setting that adjusted suspension, steering and engine/exhaust, it would seriously be the ultimate car. Even without those I think this is my favourite ride ever….

Apparenlty Nissan has cracked down on dealerships passing on fall over orders. Mine was a fall over from another dealer and when they contacted Nissan Australia, I was next on the list for my colour. So very lucky.

Stopping off at Bathurst tonight.

Well said. So many car reviewers of the last 15 or 20 years are so focussed on hard edge performance at the sake of comfort. Manufacturers want good reviews and have catered to this resulting in lots of cars with hard seats and harsh suspension.

Nissan has built this car for the people, not the motoring journalists and it's so much better for it. That's why the reviews are mediocre but for how it will get driven 99% of the time it is absolutely brilliant. That is why it will be a future classic.

Shit tyres though...

Yes took one for a test drive while the dealer has a loaner from nissan hq for that day. Just feels 1:1 and natural, not super hard like a bmw m3 or even a tesla, but not like a boat like a mercedes on air suspension.

specifically bought this car for 1. rear 2. yellow with a hint of green colour 3. steering feel/drive feel

the reviewers these days honestly try to compare every car to a 911/m3 at $190-400k AUD. Like yeah, of course it's better.

If that’s true…I better not see anyone else driving a yellow coupe around …surely I have to be first on the list

I’ve heard enough about the YouTubers going on and comparing Supra/Z. It would be an honour to own and tryout both these two, there’s only enough room for 1 unfortunately and I’d have to let one go unfortunately

… Z was the first choice as you can see above plate, fortunately this one came along due to 1 and half year delay with Z. Last 6-7 months with Supra was nothing short of spectacular, 15,000 km on odo during these time. Drove to Adelaide from Melbourne when it was 43° in Xmas break didn’t break a sweat. From Black Spur drive to Mount Donna Buang it keeps getting better. Z has a big tyre to fill. IT WILL BE DIFFICULT to let any of these go…

Fortunately I’ve never been tempted by the Supra styling, but I appreciate your dilemma.

Out of the blue got a call from Nissan Au that my black Diamond Manual Z is here and ready for pick in 2-3 days. It’s been a long wait and super excited. 😃
Congrats…but guessing the wait has still been shorter than mine

How come they didn’t know it was on the ship🤷‍♀️
And when you say Nissan Au…do you mean your dealer or Nissan head office
If so it would seem to suggest a shift in how they are informing customers
And letting you know on a long weekend as well…how odd
Wish they phoned me

It was the dealer who rang me yes, as we’ve seen from earlier comms Nissan HQ seems to allocate as they built and not enough comms in between. I’ve also had sales rep changed. I feel for you @West Aussie, I reckon it’s the non-proto yellow that’s coursing you delay. Can’t be that far I hope

ive actually got a screen shot of my order
Under status is says “20”
Also “confirmed” under car made 2nd week of Feb
If I had to guess it would be I was the 20th person in the country to order …that includes dealer orders
I can’t tell you how frustrated I am.
The only upside?
I know I’ll probably want to upgrade speakers and maybe a bit of a better sounding muffler,,so by the time I get mine hoping for some good guidance on what would be good and affordable

@West Aussie here is what the status numbers mean:

Cool…that’s a good bit of info..
I know was top 100 in Aus, was told that by Nissan HQ, but they didn’t tell me exactly where ….20 was a guess because I know I was also number 3 in WA

My screen shot was from 3 weeks ago….I’m hoping it hits that 60 very soon if it hasn’t already done so

You will not... And if you do let me know. ;) You do have to dig a little into BS posts by people trying to suggest quick deliveries, however it is wrong and to their credit Nissan is now playing hardball.

I think your car is pretty close. :)
