It's like Nissan has said. You wanted a 90s inspired jdm
Ha, that's gold!

For now will just get a wireless adapter, down track might be able to replace the head unit as no other controls seem to be linked to it.
Man, I respect the problem solving approach, but let's get down to brass tacks here; this is a 90 thousand dollar top trim 23 model here and we cant be seriously talking about replacing the head unit for a feature that quite frankly, it should have already?!

I can't believe I didn't click onto this sooner.

I did have a quick squiz and sure enough, it seems the Supra has the same let down. Seriously, wtf.

Have I mentioned my 32k MY19 MR Triton has wireless car play ? This car is 3 times the value and shouldn't be found wanting comparing the two for features!!

Hello! I recently became the owner of the Nissan 350Z.
I plan to buy a head unit on Android OS, but before that, I want to study in detail all the aspects, difficulties, and possible consequences of such an undertaking.
I have a 2013 model.
Maybe someone already installed it, please share your experience, I will be very grateful.
Many THX)
Maybe you know?

Man, I didn't even know there was a wired version of Android Auto.

I'll be damned if I'll have more connectivity in my damn base model ute than I will this borderline 6 figure top of the line sports car.

No wonder we're still pushing ahead with the release down here, theres no flapping trimmings on our model at all.
I tried the wired version of Android Auto in our economy car, and didn't like. Wasn't allowing me access to the phone functionality as I wanted while connected to the head unit. Ended up deactivating.

But yes, surprised the wireless functionality is not offered in all vehicles by now. Unless there is some licensing costs for Android Auto versions and penny pinching?

At the least, offer that and other functionalists for upcharges. Some other auto makers offer a variety of trims, that can near double the cost of the base vehicle. And some customers are paying the double!

The Supra here is even worse, no CarPlay whatsoever without a fairly complicated hack.
I think you mean Android Auto isn't available without a hack.

The Supra was upgraded to come standard with wireless CarPlay late last year.

Quick update from Dealer, pushed back to August delivery now (Werribee Nissan)
Disappointing but kinda expected lol.
Cheers for the update, haven't heard anything about ETA's from my dealer so it's good to know :)

Have they provided your VIN number yet?

I think once we finalise the contract (trims and colour) only then we will get expected delivery time and later on VIN (once the trim is confirmed with production)

When we all placed our pre-orders I think we could only specify color, transmission and if we wanted a proto, I would assume based on that we will most likely all get black/grey trim.
What does everyone else think?

My guy told me the pre-order was only to allocate how many Z’s for the market. Final trim will be once the test drive and final contract is done with actual figures and trims for production. Makes sense

Kinda of expected…one month is not too bad IF that’s the timeline for our delivery not the dealers demo

I think originally that’s correct, but when dealers were asked to call all orders on their system and check they were correct, there was an opportunity to change interior then.
Personally I’m surprised that Aus are getting any selection on interior, almost always it’s just black apart from the limited edition

Hey all, I've been lurking around here for a while. Got a call from Nissan Dandenong (VIC) and they told me they're expecting their first allocation towards the end of July or the first week of August.

What surprised me the most was when I went to pre-order I was number 23 in the queue and now I'm included in the first 10 cars that will be allocated in the first batch.

Hey Welcome to the Forum and the Aussie page
I think late July early August has been the standard timeline for quite some time now …and hopefully it turns out that way.

I noticed that many dealers at first were counting numbers based on interest, but now are only counting those that actually placed deposits…so that along with a couple of people pulling out could go some way to explaining why you have moved up the list.

I myself was second, but now am first because I believe the first person did not put a deposit down.

It’s an exciting time…What did you order?

https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2022-new-car-calendar-australia-may-update-2

WhichCar.Com.Au - marks the Nissan Z due to arrive in August (updated 18th May 2022).
Make of it what you will, but I'm pretty sure it has previously marked arrival for 'mid-year'.

A couple of thoughts..
Haven't spotted any Aus cars on the transport photos coming out yet- how long does it typically take from production --> showroom?
Will they need to do ANCAP crash testing, or will they scoot it through on the back of the 370Z?
