Disappointing but kinda expected lol.
Cheers for the update, haven't heard anything about ETA's from my dealer so it's good to know :)

Have they provided your VIN number yet?
I think once we finalise the contract (trims and colour) only then we will get expected delivery time and later on VIN (once the trim is confirmed with production)

When we all placed our pre-orders I think we could only specify color, transmission and if we wanted a proto, I would assume based on that we will most likely all get black/grey trim.
What does everyone else think?

My guy told me the pre-order was only to allocate how many Z’s for the market. Final trim will be once the test drive and final contract is done with actual figures and trims for production. Makes sense

Quick update from Dealer, pushed back to August delivery now (Werribee Nissan)
Kinda of expected…one month is not too bad IF that’s the timeline for our delivery not the dealers demo

I think originally that’s correct, but when dealers were asked to call all orders on their system and check they were correct, there was an opportunity to change interior then.
Personally I’m surprised that Aus are getting any selection on interior, almost always it’s just black apart from the limited edition

Hey all, I've been lurking around here for a while. Got a call from Nissan Dandenong (VIC) and they told me they're expecting their first allocation towards the end of July or the first week of August.

What surprised me the most was when I went to pre-order I was number 23 in the queue and now I'm included in the first 10 cars that will be allocated in the first batch.

Hey Welcome to the Forum and the Aussie page
I think late July early August has been the standard timeline for quite some time now …and hopefully it turns out that way.

I noticed that many dealers at first were counting numbers based on interest, but now are only counting those that actually placed deposits…so that along with a couple of people pulling out could go some way to explaining why you have moved up the list.

I myself was second, but now am first because I believe the first person did not put a deposit down.

It’s an exciting time…What did you order?

WhichCar.Com.Au - marks the Nissan Z due to arrive in August (updated 18th May 2022).
Make of it what you will, but I'm pretty sure it has previously marked arrival for 'mid-year'.

A couple of thoughts..
Haven't spotted any Aus cars on the transport photos coming out yet- how long does it typically take from production --> showroom?
Will they need to do ANCAP crash testing, or will they scoot it through on the back of the 370Z?

I once tried to find the ANCAP rating for my 370Z, from what I could gather car has never been tested.
Just had a quick look and no results for the Supra either.
Looks like these type of cars don't get tested for some reason

Well August is still mid year ( and it could be August 1 for all we know) ….as I said before I’m ok with that, as long as that is when WE get the car not just demos
No idea about testing, but hopefully likely goes off safety features

Production…I’m pretty sure 1000 cars could be pumped out within a few weeks ….still trying to be hopeful.

I'm hearing rumours of demo/media cars within the next few weeks though I'm not expecting anything like the media shindig in USA.

That would be awesome still. Can finally check out the car in person!

I wouldn’t be surprised, a lot of the walk around reviews from Aus mentioned that there would be drive reviews in the “next few weeks” not months.
Like you I think there will only be half a dozen and compared to the US they won’t be movie productions?
But hoping if that is the case (because the reviews were held over a week ago now) that we willl get those in the next two to three weeks (mid June) and then we see ours very end of July early August.
Again, I know I’m being overly optimistic….but after a year if I’m not, I’ll cry with every push back. So I’m choosing to be naive and live in hope ?

24-28 days via ship from Japan so hopefully we start hearing / seeing a bit more soon! ????????
Plenty of car carriers coming through Freo WA in the next few months, looks to be at least one per week.

On another note….someone asked if the car has electric side mirrors ( can’t remember who) the spec sheet says yes, with auto de mister on them too

Another email from Nissan Aus today, another email with no new information??
