Not sure it's been asked before, but I'm curious- who here is planning to daily drive the Z- and if so, what is it replacing?
If not, are you buying it as a weekender, track car etc?
What's your plans for it?

Mines a daily…replacing my Peugeot RCZ Type R that I sold in October last year believing I would have a car in Feb .
It was one of only 500 world wide, and realistically only around one in 250 by the time it was sold because of the number of them that were written off. It was approaching 7 years old and the car is known for the turbo engine to blow up, so I thought it was time. Servicing cost a fortune too… but now I REALLY miss it …especially as I’m driving my youngest crappy 9 year old I20 around. Quite depressing

Weekender.

I'm home for 2 weeks at a time so will be taking the proto, or the z32 out in an alternating fashion with my MY19 Triton as the daily.

My dealership said they will not have a demo until their 14 reservations are fulfilled.

If I spot a manual boulder demo car at their shop I'll be taking it for a one way test drive.

"My dealer said" is a bit of a joke phrase here in the USA. Meaning regardless of reality or manufacturer direction, we hear all sorts of things from individual dealers/salespersons.

In my area, I'd be skeptical of anything a dealer said, unless the dealer was my brother (and maybe not even then). Hopefully things are different in AU.

Given what's occurring with other in-demand new vehicles, the Z delay from spring to summer and looking at the overall automotive trends, I'm pessimistic about getting a Z anytime soon. We'll probably hear of a rather small number of people getting Zs in 2022.

I'm a frequent reader but definitely don't post as much.

No updates from my dealer at all. He mentioned he believes 500 cars are coming to Aus - but who knows (Sydney based).

Weekender for me and maybe the occasional track.
Mods: Intake, exhaust and spacers most likely. That should be a good start lol.

Weekender for me, and probably keep it totally stock, maybe with a Nismo exhaust if it's an option at delivery. If I was to do anything else, turbo back exhaust & a tune.

Will be a weekender for me also, no real mods, just some cosmetics, the door switch trim, door vents, door barrel and gauge pods will all get carbon fiber or piano black trim.

Weekender for me also however I have basically lost hope in getting the Proto I ordered. I don't even know how Liverpool Nissan is still in business. Their lot is literally empty except for 3 Navaras and their communication is non-existent. If I don't get the proto I will refund the deposit and wait for when/if the Nismo version comes or look elsewhere. I'm not desperate for a new car.

One of my orders is with these guys also, their website states Australia's largest volume dealer, so I thought better chance of getting a car with these guys.
Only had them call me twice without being prompted once to confirm the colour and transmission and when the price was announced.
All other calls were replies to my enquiries

They've never once contacted me unprompted. Their dealership has a big banner saying largest volume dealer in Australia as well. I drive past it every day and their stock has been dwindling for months.

Sad about your Peugeot

My daily was a WRX for about 8 years, it blew it's 2nd motor a year ago, so decided it was time to let it go. I bloody loved that car.
Bought an $800 MK4 Golf (75kw of fury!) last July with 320,000km and a shagged clutch (manual) to tie me over til the Z arrives. Hill starts are pretty scary; never sure if it'll make it up!
Other than changing the oil once, I'm not planning on spending a dime on it it's a tired old car.

Funny how we become attached to a car….I literally stood at the end of my driveway and cried whilst I watched my Peugeot drive off into the distance with a very happy new buyer

Additional car for me and just a weekend warrior. Would love to try the track, not yet sure how that works in Brissie?!

Wish it could be a daily but unfortunately as a tradie I must commute in the company ute.

would be good to try on a track, just found Luddenham Raceway in NSW, $200 to 250 for the day, sessions are 15min and you may get between 8-12 sessions. Its a lot cheaper than flooring it on the highway somewhere and getting fined with demerits.
The last turbo car I had was a Cordia Turbo, for a while back in 1984 this was one of Australias fastest cars, sold it when I got down to 1 demerit point, now that was a fun car to drive

Like the idea of tracking, but to scared.
How does insurance work? Will they cover you if you crash?
I think I’d find myself paying the money to have a go then driving like a grandma just out of sheer terror that I’d total the car and have no insurance.

Funny though I’m quite confident on nice winding roads
