Getting the cloudiness off the inside of the windshield

What is the best method?

No matter what I do with glass cleaner, the inside of my windshield always has a great haze to it when going into the sun and you can see wipe marks. The side and back windows do not have this issue.

Anyone know what you to use to eliminate this cloudiness, or gray haziness? Most noticeable when driving into the sun.

Never had any luck with glass cleaner and I don’t like the idea of the overspray on the dash.

I normally use a damp microfiber towel with plain water or a quick detailing spray, followed with a dry microfiber towel. i’ve also used rainx.

I also use 2 microfiber rags, but I use Sprayway or isopropyl (at least 70%). Use one of the rags for cleaning with the spray, and the other for buffing the surface after you wipe the cleaner off. Wait for it to dry before buffing. You can also spray the cleaner directly into the rag if you don't want to deal with the overspray, but Sprayway is pretty harmless as long as you wipe it up quickly/don't let it dry.

I haven’t done this in a long time, as I haven’t gotten a newspaper in a long time, but newspaper and windex do really a pretty good job.

My wife started buying Method brand cleaners and It hazes no matter how many times you go over it. I switched back to good ol’ Windex for the cars…and clean microfiber as mentioned above. I sort of do the two towel method, but one towel, with one end for the first swipe and the other end on the 2nd pass. My microfibers are about hand towel size, not washcloth, so I’ve got the acreage on the cloths to pull it off.

Had an uncle with an early ‘60’s mustang from new to the early 80’s. He used newspapers to clean his windows.

back in the day we saved and used newspapers for everything, masking for painting, to light the fireplace or any fire, wrapping paper, packaging, liner for litter box.. Lol.

I believe i have a solution for this one... You're gonna need 3 different microfiber towels and ideally one microfiber pad. You'll need some isopropyl alcohol and then some regular glass cleaner.

First step is to spray some isopropyl alcohol onto the microfiber pad (another towel will work) and wipe down the inside of the windshield spreading the alcohol around. Then go over it again with that first towel trying to clean as much off as you can of that hazy foggy layer.

Then it's time to basically go in and clean as normal. Spray your glass cleaner onto a new microfiber towel (make sure these two are as clean as possible) and clean the glass before using your final towel to finish it off

The big mistake i was making for a while was using only one microfiber towel thinking that would clean the glass. I tried all sorts of different tools/products but turns out all i was really doing was just moving that smudginess around and not actually cleaning it off.

The two microfiber cloth method works great for all my other window needs but adding this extra step with the isopropyl alcohol before was the key for my front windshield

I use the same "two microfiber cloth" technique others here have said but with a product called Invisible Glass. One rag to wipe the product on, the second to buff it off after it dries. I have had good luck with it.

I've had this same issue since my car was new. So far, nothing has resolved it. It's really bad at this time of year with the sun almost directly East and West right at commute time. If you have success, I'd love to hear about it.

Light glass cleaner wipe off. New cloth wipe again, then new cloth and again.

For me - damp microfiber and wipe. Takes only a few seconds. Just have to do it regularly but an easy quick solution without the need for “solutions”. See what I did there ?

Spray windshield. Scrub with sponge or microfiber.

With inside of windshield still dripping wet....

Squeegee the liquid off.

I used Invisible Glass that comes with a triangular 2 cloth on an extendable stick. Works great, also the A/C controls set will make the windshield fog.

Today I tried a nice new clean microfiber and meticulously wiped down the inside with rubbing alcohol (not too much just enough to know it's on there.) Then I meticulously wiped down with another new dry microfiber, and it worked. All the cloudiness is gone now. This will be my technique for now on. I knew it worked when I spotted a corner that I missed and I could see the HUGE difference. Thanks for all the replies.
