I already had a 370Z Nismo, so it really doesn't call my attention. If I ever get an AT it would be a GTR.I can tell you that if Nissan decided to get a Nismo MT out, I will trade mine.

The fact that you would attempt to equate NISMO Z auto to a Porsche PDK says it all. In the end drive what you love to drive, because you have to pay for it. Iām not trying to change anyoneās mind on what they like. I wouldnāt buy a Porsche without a manual and as a former BMW guy canāt stand the direction theyāre headed.I wonder if anyone complains that a Porsche Cayman, 911 having the PDK 7-8 speed is not a good thing. I am really perplexed as to why the beat down the automatic which is designed by Mercedes and built by Nissan. Anyway you like what you like. I still love mine.![]()
Every forum site develops a "personality" and culture. One of the "cultural" things that has developed on this site is dogging on two things: 1. The stock tires. 2. Automatic transmissions. The sides have been chosen and everyone is defending their ground lol.I wonder if anyone complains that a Porsche Cayman, 911 having the PDK 7-8 speed is not a good thing. Great point!I wonder if anyone complains that a Porsche Cayman, 911 having the PDK 7-8 speed is not a good thing. I am really perplexed as to why the beat down the automatic which is designed by Mercedes and built by Nissan. Anyway you like what you like. I still love mine.![]()
I truly believe automatic/dual clutch have come a long way. My son has a DSG in his Golf R and it performs outstandingly and thereās no doubt outperforms the manual. Iām just a manual guy and thatās what attracted me to the Z. Like I stated earlier Nissan dropped the ball by not offering a manual in the NISMO or at least the dual clutch in the GTR. Lastly thank you for your service too! I hung it up after 21 years. There are many models that may not be available as a result of the car makers doing what they do. I equate the situation with quartz watches and mechanical watches. I prefer mechanical watches and I love my Breitling's but still love my solar Seiko chronographs. It is a matter of taste and what experience you are wanting to feel. I have a very bad knee which limits my choice between MT or AT. I started in MT early on but saw the tremendous advantage of a machine doing it for you. BTW thanks for your service, I was ARMY for 26 years.

Same here i would jump on a nismo with the GR6 tranny.I already had a 370Z Nismo, so it really doesn't call my attention. If I ever get an AT it would be a GTR.
The PDK is not an a/t tranny - itās a DTC. Itās two manual gear boxes that uses a dual clutch pack and is auto shifted by a computer.I wonder if anyone complains that a Porsche Cayman, 911 having the PDK 7-8 speed is not a good thing. 1. The stock tires.
I drove the Golf R too while doing QC for Volkswagen. I would drive it as aggressive as I drive my motorcycle. It is truly remarkable. The Nismo AT doesn't come close to the R.My son has a DSG in his Golf R and it performs outstandingly and thereās no doubt outperforms the manual. ...
Interesting... how would you compare the 370Nismo with your current Z?I already had a 370Z Nismo...
Could you elaborate more on this Tranny? I never cared about nothing but manual... until now that I am getting into the "special edition" models...The PDK is not an a/t tranny - itās a DTC. Itās two manual gear boxes that uses a dual clutch pack and is auto shifted by a computer.
The tranny was developed in the 80āā¦. The GTR also has a DTC tranny.
Hell, I'd buy one.I can tell you that if Nissan decided to get a Nismo MT out, I will trade mine.
Me too!Hell, I'd buy one.
