Went to mission raceway track on the weekend and it didn’t disappoint!...
My current upgrades are both swaybars, lowering springs, stillen comp exhaust and k and n cai.
Nice work. Gotta say, the Z looks the part on track with a decent drop. That's true for most cars, but especially for Z cars.

Is there a list somewhere of the safe temperature ranges on this car or what temperature is in the red? I've only hit limp mode for a brief moment on track and it was either at 270 or 280F oil temps. I just kinda figure if the car isn't throwing up warnings and I'm not in the red...can't be too bad right? Probably not a great long term strategy though

Some temps from the end of a 30 minute session in pretty hot temps.

280f converted to celsius is 137c and thats extremely hot. How long was the session? And climate outside? I believe the gauge is pretty accurate and judging by it u were already close to the red.

Miserably hot, probably high 90's but felt like 110 that day. That would've been a 30 minute session as well that's pretty much the longest I do so far and that was at VIR

Dash says 95. That certainly qualifies as "Miserably hot."

I wish my dash showed that. 🙁

Numbers don't always tell the whole story. Someone has always got it hotter, but the heat index was far above 95F. Really its just the hottest track weekend I have to reference and the only time i've gotten the reduced engine power warning for a very brief moment.

whatever thats in the manual i think its 0w-20? may consider a heavier on the next change
Wouldnt that create more heat due to the increased friction?

Unless the 0-20 is so inadequate that it's not lubricanting and you are getting wear heat, that's not good 😅 what's the Nismo running?

Just judging from other peoples experiences. Climate is probably the huge dealer breaker. Probably will stay with similar changes unless im getting tuned next year, will see what he suggests

If you look up synthic oil operating temperatures it varies alot about figures of 150c dont seem unreasonable for short periods. he was under 140c max.

Maybe it was another temp that was throwing the limp, engine coolant? Transmission temp? My cars a manual so I have engine oil pressure instead of transmission temp.

Anyone else seen overheating issues?

Just the swift springs spec r. 1.1 inch drop I believe
How did the Swifts perform with the stock shocks when pushed at the track and on streets? Firm good damping and not bouncy? With the added swaybars, the lean also looks nicely controlled.

I would suggest not to upgrade your tires. I am assuming you are talking about soft track tires?.
your street tires and alignment give you a couple safety benefits;
1. under steer.
2. tires yelling at you when they reach their limits.
I used to tell my students to keep their head up!, watch corner workers, get your breaking and drive the correct line down first. Don't strangle the wheel and look at instruments in the straights. Ah yea, breaking and braking zones make up lots of time. Trail braking only works at some corners!.
when you get to the point you can't get a better lap time and the car is runnin

Ya the swifts performed great. Instructor said just run the springs until the oem shocks need to be replaced then maybe u can do coils. Or u can just do coils from the get go and skip the springs

Track temps are always hotter than ambient, why your temp readings were almost spiking. I'm waiting until late fall before planning to take mine out, west coast is still baking now. It sure looks to be a good idea to add oil cooler/s plus at least 5w30 out here, I'm barely past break-in period but factory spec 0w20 is too risky at high track temps.

Yeah changing from the OEM fluids is something I'm looking at now. I found a local shop that i'm working with now and we talked about switching some fluids like the differential fluid to something that should handle the temps better.

You definitely should go to a 5W - 30 try and find a 0W - 30. The first number is only for cold starts and if the engine has been designed to start with a 0W you can cause issues.

Only ever drop the first number and increase the 2nd number
