Anyone seen these hood risers & know how to get them down. Spun the Z on wet roads and caught back wheel on curb. These popped the hood open - can’t open or close hood

Now you mention this….it makes me a little concerned that just a bump could do this.
We have massive speed bumps all over the place. If a bump is all it takes it’s a worry. If more than a bump is necessary then Nissan should pay
Mine popped at 30 mph from a small dip in the road. Nissan has had my car since Nov 8, 2024 and still no news on getting the parts. They are accusing me of modding the suspension. I bought the Z used with 12,000 miles on it. Haven’t done anything to the car except replace speakers. They are fighting paying for the new ones. Should I get a lawyer since the dealer sold me the car as it stands?

I would take the car back and install the popper delete kit. It took multiple dealership calls and about 2 1/2 months for the dealership to get the new wiring harness for the popper recall

Isn't this the reason why these were recalled? Seems a little stupid to me that your hood could pop up especially on the Nismo variants, as we all know we will be hitting ripple strips hard and even have off tracks on a car that's been commercialized as a track/street toy....

Surely they won't pop up that easily without the bumper being hit!?

Mine popped from hitting a pot hole in the road. What a disaster. My Z was in service from Nov.2024-March. It took that long to investigate and get new bags, they have to be replaced once deployed. Finally they agreed to do it under warranty?!?!?? I’m glad to have my Z back but always waiting for that moment that hopefully never happens again!

At least it was under warranty, other have said the dealers wouldn't do under warranty. Maybe Nissan needs to issue a recall ... just typing out loud.

I would just call them
after a second look, the site says they offer to rebuild your oem part rather than buying a replacement...

No. The recall was due to the wiring harness behind the bumper for one of the hood popup devices not being plugged in correctly from factory.

It appears that because of this you are LESS likely to have your hood poppers go off. Not more likely.

It’s actually possible to open the hood when they activate. You just have to pull the hood, lever all the way up. I’m just gonna swap them with an $800 eBay set until the Japan delete plug in set comes in by mail. I was quoted $3000 for a repair. $1,200 per actuator popper.

Hi, these were originally made for the R35 GTR. Can you please confirm that they also work on the Nissan Z?

Just about to order some but want to make sure I'm getting the right ones.
I ordered and installed them in my car a few weeks ago, and can confirm that they work perfectly. No error lights.
However....VERY IMPORTANT... Make sure you disconnect the battery before you unplug the electrical harness off of the poppers. Then plug in the pop up eliminators, then re-connect the battery after everything is done.
If the car is energized without either the poppers, or the pop up eliminators plugged into the car harness, you will get an error code that will need the Nissan Computer to clear it.
