man I love the look of smaller rims and chunky rubber!

I'll def be going smaller than the stock 19's

(note I said I love, yes I know it's a personal prefence that not every-one agrees with)

A "tune" on the current Supra is cheaper than the Z?

I thought that the current BMW ECU requires an expensive hack?
Did you see my post #9? Just back in May that guy paid over $5500 to get 480whp on flex fuel. The ECU unlock alone was over $2k. And I searched those forums, people are still waiting for the ECU unlock capability to be available in the USA.

Your pricing seems to indicate a pre-2020 BMW ECU?

Neither one of these vehicles are as cheap to modify as their proponents keep suggesting.....
You can get an unlock and BM3 Stage 2 OTS Tune for $2500 now. More affordable options have been released for post-2020 ECUs.

Late to the party buuuuut...

You wouldn't have that problem on a 2020 or early '21... the ecu hardware was still unlocked at the time, so a catless downpipe for $300, $500 super license from MHD (for some basic OTS maps [the E30 and E40 OTS maps pull hard as shit btw]) and a custom E50 tune for another $500 puts you comfortably a little over 500hp.

So, I repeatedly said "current" Supra. To be clear.

I didn't think people would want to compare used car to new car.

You can get 470-480 on new Supras easily with JB4 and downpipe for < $1000
I did it before i went full unlock and ecutek

I think the rush to add power it is great for the 400Z and the competition of sports cars. As a friendly competitor I still maintain dollar for dollar in mods, the b58 is better and will stay ahead of the Z. But please someone start coming to the road tracks! (i don't care a whole bunch about 1/4 stuff)
Supra just went 8 secs flat this week fwiw. From what little i know it gets exponentially more difficult to drop each 1/2 sec under 10s

Although JB4 is unlikely to be available for the 400Z, I'm pretty sure they'll have one for the new Z, as they already make one for the Q.

They went full baller status on it. Many upgrades to get 719 whp 592 wtq.

I wonder why torque is so low?

Maybe on purpose to protect the stock rods.
