I figured I’d start a thread about the age of our fellow Z owners.

I’ve always loved the Z since my older bro had a Z32 in the late 90’s. I got a new 2006 base Z33 in 2006 when I was 18. Man, I was so lucky! I lost her in Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Now I’m 37 and still in love with the Z.

Im 45 now, back in 2003 My GF at the time bought a brand new 03 base 350Z mt, I had my 95 Supra at the time but I drove her Z quite a bit, back then it was a really cool car to have. Ten years and about 5 cars later I was in the market for a Nismo. In 2013 I looked at a used 350Z and a V1 370Z Nismo but couldn't strike a deal and ended up custom ordering a new 2014 Mustang GT, then 15 Cmaro Z/28, then 18 Porsche 911. I never buy the same car twice so when the new Nismo came out and prices started to fall I decided to give it another try and finally got one. My long time friend said "you finally got your Nismo" It was a long time coming and absolutley loving the car and the Z comunity.

39. My uncle had a 260z drag car that I only saw pictures of (and the burnt hulk that he kept, I remember the rear window louvers) that I thought looked sick. When I was a mechanic in my 20s a customer had a 300zx that was neat, but I was in the Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000gt world. My 2023z was my first off the lot car, lol

I'm a bit surprised at the results. At 72 I see there are a lot of fellow fans in that club. Driving is fun again!
I'm 73. My first Z was a 240Z in 1970 and I've had eight Z's since that one. I bailed from the Z platform in 1983 (280 ZX Turbo) partly because of marriage/house/kids and partly because I was completely disappointed in the ponderous, bloated luxo-cruiser GT that the Z had become. The 350Z re-awakened my interest but I didn't jump back in until 2011. The two 370Z's I had were as much fun as I remembered that first 240Z to be, and my current 2024 Performance Z went one better. I put it away for the winter a few weeks ago and I'm already tired of driving my 3/4 ton GMC. It's an awesome winter-in-Minnesota daily driver, but just transportation . Not exactly fun.

I'm 54 and own 4 z cars including a Proto and a Nismo Z. I Enjoy them all and hope to drive them for many more years to come! I would rather spend my extra $$ making modes on my Z cars than on any other material item. To me they have an iconic design and are reasonably attainable financially. Long Live the Z!

42 - Glad to read all the stories above. Typically when I run into Z fans, they always remember how and when they got their Z's.

I didn't know what I had when I just began driving my used 1992 z32 TT. It was a gem! I then had my 2007 Z33 total by a drunk driver. I'd still have it had that not happened. Cheers!

When I go to big Z meets, I see the generations of people and the Z's they have. Younger people 20s-30s usually have 350/370s with some 300s here and there. 40-50s have Z's from the 80's and early 90's Then the real old timers have the 1970s Z's. Of course there are exceptions but just what I observed.

My first Z was a 1982 280zx in cowboy colors (Blue and silver two tone). I owned that 38 yrs ago.

I met my wife of 38 years with that car and picked up our new 2024 Z performance this last week because it reminded us of the old one from our past.

This one is a little nicer, lol
