Ohhh hahaha I was like wtf ?Nah FBD and Yasha who made the comment about keeping it to 52k are Canadian,
I suspect Nissan will keep the auto under or close to 50k to make it a clear choice financially between it and the MK5.
I was referring to Canadian dollars. I'm sure the US perf models will be lower...Woah woah buddy let’s try to keep it under 50 lol
We have our share of problems, but I agree this pre-order setup was epic. My dealer kept telling me how Canadians get screwed on inventory every launch compared to the US to temper my expectations, pretty funny how surprised he was to see it was the opposite. You Canadians seem to have the best of both worlds, pre orders tick, reasonable price with Nissan Canada somehow absorbing the exchange rate (on the most part) tick.
The Us have no pre orders to deal with but Need to negotiate the dealer mark ups.
The Japan and Aus markets have pre orders but somehow get charged double
I would be happy to be a Canadian at the moment ?
Seeing as how the sport is announced at around 40k USD, and the performance is guesstimated at around 45-47k USD, I'd be extremely surprised (although happily so) is it ends up being 50k CAD. I'm assuming it'll be closer to 58-60k CAD for the performance. The Supra 3.0 starts around 68k, so that still gives them plenty of breathing room.Hundo P, still hoping it's under 50 but 52 wouldn't be bad considering how nasty spending 75k + tax on a "competitor" is.
No unsolicited pompous luxury features I don't wanna pay for, and no fancy badge tax either. Not saying I wouldn't take that, I like those cars too but I'm not the average consumer bedazzled by some pretty trim and RGB light strips straight out of a budget PC.
I would take an m3 though god damn that thing is beautiful in green. My dirty sin would be the Alfa Quadrifoglio, also in green. Then I would manual swap it. (not like it was gonna be reliable anyway)![]()
read the other threads on here regarding Canadian pricing. It is not a simple matter of straight over exchange. So the performance should come in around 50-52. At 58 to 60 the Z will become the biggest flop ever. It needs 480hp and higher end finishing for 60k.Seeing as how the sport is announced at around 40k USD, and the performance is guesstimated at around 45-47k USD, I'd be extremely surprised (although happily so) is it ends up being 50k CAD. Canadian dollar is almost exactly the same as the Aus Dollar.read the other threads on here regarding Canadian pricing. It is not a simple matter of straight over exchange. I stand corrected. I knew the exchange wouldn't be an exact carryover, I assumed Nissan world take advantage of the fact that the Supra is a higher price point to set their Canadian MSRP. But it looks like the 2020 370Z Canadian was only ~4k higher than US MSRP. Good news for us up north.read the other threads on here regarding Canadian pricing. Based on historical Z pricing, Nissan eats most of the conversion rate.Seeing as how the sport is announced at around 40k USD, and the performance is guesstimated at around 45-47k USD, I'd be extremely surprised (although happily so) is it ends up being 50k CAD. The Z will not be anywhere close to 60K CAD. If it is I'm running out to buy a used Cayman or Boxster for 30k and will just know there is some maintenance to be done. A way better handling car and road feel than the Z can ever deliver. The Z is iconic for delivering great power and handling for a great price. Review Chris Harris's reviews of the Z as a 7/10's care that gets unsettled. Porsche doesn't do that. My previous Boxster was the best. But I want a new car. And I want this new Z with the new styling. But not at ANY cost.Based on historical Z pricing, Nissan eats most of the conversion rate.
I'm not even gonna bother with this car if it's approaching 60, a fully loaded mustang sounds way better, and is more practical. Plus you know...6 piston brakes, adaptive suspension, the stuff that would actually make a sports car worth 60 grand.
Looking at a Mustang as a base for comparing USD to CAD none of this price speculation seems unreasonable. Hell just buy it in the states for cheaper and just reverse import it ?The Z will not be anywhere close to 60K CAD. R34's don't comply with the 25 year old importation rule.they might have a weird rule about that or something . just now down here they impounded a bunch of R34s
