When they don't know the info/answer, a lot of car salesmen and car salesnonmen start spitting out random crap to deflect and avoid seeming clueless. It makes them seem more clueless. Not that it's specific to Nissan, but I'd love to see a poll of all US Nissan sales personnel and the % that can actually tell you how many gears a manual Z has (lucky guesses not allowed).

Like it's crazy to say "we're not making a manual" and then announce a few years later

"Heyy so about that. We're doing it, but you probably can't get it"
Exactly how I feel. It was a very hard decision for me to switch from my MT Performance to the Nismo; no regrets. But then, a few weeks later... heard the news... 😒

Most sales people are not car people. And most of them don't know how finances really work for the dealership. It's always the same script and easy to make them feel like they don't know anything about he car by just spitting out facts

Just seeing the stuff above about the '27 NISMO front rotors.
Do we know if it's LITERALLY THE SAME PART as the GT-R rotor (same Nissan PN), or is there something different, like the rotor's the same, allowing them to say it's "stolen from the GT-R," but the hat is different, etc...

If they knew MT was coming from the start (if sales stayed at or above expectations), it would have been a bad move to announce that from the beginning (2022, 2023, whenever).
Those who wanted an AT NISMO would still have purchased.
A handful wanting MT wouldn't have waited and bought a Sport/Perf/Heritage MT, but many of those that decided to wait would have dropped the idea or moved on to something else by the time it arrived.
For me, the ability to purchase a brand new NISMO sports car was real (once they were deeply discounted) and that was more important to me than the transmission.

Yeah I was looking at the Z performance 3 years ago but the markups were insane at the time and I ended up getting a 6mt M4 comp instead. Was so ready to move on from the BMW cause the bmw community is kinda weird. Also working on it was kinda annoying. I shouldn't need a laptop to bleed my brakes.

Eyes were always on the Z. And after I started getting serious about tracking, the Nismo was the only option. 4 hours of stop and go traffic occasionally for work did not help either.

If I knew the MT Nismo was coming two years later I would have waited......Keeping this Perf relatively low miles and see if worth a trade up later, that is if the entire MT package works well, as track ready as possible out of the box, with only tires, pads, fluids to improve on, no more heat soak, cooling, fuel starvation issues.
