A few updates for those looking for a 2027 Z NISMO. As of this post the NISMO is now unavailable to order. There was a very limited quantity available a few weeks ago but it seems that could have been the total 2027 allocation for them at least for now. I would work on the assumption that they are all spoken for unless something changes later in the model year. If you want a 2027 NISMO good luck
Also of note for the standard Z Bayside blue will be a very limited color think of it like the passion red situation of previous years. In addition to this all two tone colors will be somewhat limited.

There were rumors of this a few weeks ago a few online site picked up on but this seems to be confirmed by Nissan for the time being

Got word from my Nissan dealer here in Aus that there are NO Nismo,s MY2027 coming to Aus.
The only "New" model will be the "Heritage" edition.

Sold out at what marked up pricing? I can see some ending up at BaT by optimistic collectors or flippers. If very limited numbers I see the point.

yeah it seems what happened was a few weeks ago there was like a 3 day window to order 2027 Zs ( except for green which is not untill around June) at that time dealers could order a NISMO. It seems even though they didnt realize it at the time that might have been the only ordering window for them for the whole model year. I found out Nissan updated the NISMO status to UNAVAILABLE today to their dealer network

This could change latter in the model year a but as of now they shut down further orders.

The green looks pretty nice to me and, especially after the apparently limited opportunity earlier for 2027’s, should be even more desirable. I shutter to think what the stealers will asking for them.

Has anyone actually ordered a Z using the new build-to-order process? Do you settle the on the price at the time you order, or when the car shows up? Just curious how it works.

Gotta say, I'm not surprised. Dreaming of the day Nissan would make a factory manual conversion kit (not that it would ever come).

build to order doesnt mean they have to have a sold customer order. there are traditionally 2 types of allocations one where a dealer can spec out before its produced ( CPO current production order) and the other way is a dealer takes a Z already built from a pool of incoming cars. for example In the past when a dealer might have had an allocation nissan might have said hey we have a blue sport inbound take it or leave it. what build to order means the dealer has a short window to spec out the car before that production month. Its just nissan is moving away from building Zs then giving them to dealers after the fact as a way to reduce surplus Z inventory

This is just weird, why is production so limited? The model year changes across models are not that drastic, no redesigns aside from the manual in the Nismo. Nissan is falling over themselves again, ugh.

To jump on this bandwagon, it's not only weird, does it actually help the buyer get the car they want? It doesn't seem like it.

It seems like the problem is just pushed to the dealer to "figure it out". I think of build to order as: customer walks in, says I want a Z with A, B, C, and then a couple of months later, that car arrives and the customer goes away happy. Now it seems like we're right back where we were. Customer has to scour the dealers to try to find the car they want, already selected by the dealer's build to order.

From the customer viewpoint is build to order any better then what already exists?

Doesn't seem like it, if the supply doesn't come close to matching demand. I'm guessing Nissan wants to make demand a fair bit more than supply, even if it's supposedly build to order, and the Z, especially the NISMO, is basically a "halo" car for Nissan.

Oh, well, whatever is going on, I'm still just very glad I've got the Z in the color and configuration I was looking for, without being held-up and assaulted. In the first year the Z was released, I wasn't sure that was ever going to be the case, without giving them my first born child and turning over a pile of money to some dealer on the other side of the country from me, and having to live with every possible dealer add-on.

I feel like if dealers were forced to sell at MSRP or lower, the sales figures would have been much better. And I mean they are all selling eventually once the dealers drop prices. Like I got my '25 Nismo for $55k OTD with 900 miles on it which is what I think the car shouldve been valued at from the start.

Lots that goes into pricing though. 3 years ago the dealers had crazy markups on the performance model, which I would've gotten, but I found a M4 for less so I got that.

I find dealerships tend to be the issue especially after all the changes during the pandemic.
