2027 NISMO upgrade questions...

I'm about to purchase a 2027 NISMO, manual. I'm interested in:

1. Coilovers
2. Intake
3. Exhaust
4. Heat Exchanger

I'm considering the NISMO parts, for all of the above, but not sure that's the best path to take. I'm considering it as the dealer will install the components for what I feel to be a reasonable price. Also, helps with the warranty. That said, I'm mechanically inclined and can handle the installation, I'm sure. Just not sure that I want to.

I plan to keep all of the stock bits and return it to stock when I sell it. This vehicle will be a garage queen, not a daily - FYI. Given this, I'm also learning that the AWE exhaust sounds great! I think I want that. From there, B6 makes an intake that makes 'BOV noises," which I like. Would the Nismo intake make the same sounds?

Are the NISMO coilovers worth it? Are they adjustable? It sounds like the NISMO suspension is well sorted. I really just want to rid of any wheel well gap. I don't need it slammed, but would like to have about a finger of wheel well gap - a tick more in the rear. A very slight raked look.

The Nismo intakes are rebranded AMS intakes with enclosed boxes, which means no fun turbo noises. I'd suggest checking out the K&N intake system which I have and really like/am impressed with.

The AWE exhaust, which I also have, does sound and look really good! The install is a bit tedious so be patient and take your time. I was able to install mine solo by backing up on ramps.

For the heat exchanger, check out Mishimoto and CZP if you decide to go a different route than Nismo/dealer-installed. I personally like the Mishimoto since it retains the stock stone guard.

I would get the CZP heat exchanger over the Nismo branded. It holds way more coolant and half the price. I have it on my Nismo and now in the summer my Nismo felt the same way it felt during fall(boost weather) and this is on a 90-95 degree/very humid Georgia summer.

But if you don't care for the extra coolant capacity and half the price for a great quality H/X then stick with the Nismo variant.

Are the Mishimoto and CZP heat exchanges better than the Nismo option? What's so tedious about the AWE exhaust install?

They're larger & more efficient. The Nismo is still a solid upgrade vs. stock though.

Regarding AWE, just a lot of pieces with slip-fit flanges and large diameter piping so you have to get each connection absolutely perfect for proper fitment & alignment without rattles.

Install what you want on the car and leave resale value as the next guy's problem. Never understood why resale value is such a big deal, broader market trends and the value of the Z will matter more than whatever mods you happen to install. If the car is heavily modified, revert to stock and sell the mods seperately.

Not sure why it is this way, but it seems people trust mods more when they are dealer installed. Otherwise, they lower the value of the car. I keep cars for 10 years, so resale isn’t my primary concern.

Heat exchanger - AMS (uses a motorsport racing spec. core with higher performance than typical street cores - not sure about other aftermarket cores for the Z). AMS are hard to come by. The nismo tank design looks similar AMS construction - no idea if AMS is making the Nismo version. I’ve seen the nismo on sale for $900 but at that price i would go for the larger AMS.

If youre not stuck on Nismo brand specific. Go with alternatives. I get it, Nismo deserves Nismo branded parts. Just my $0.02 with suggested brands.

HeatX (Heat Exchanger). Cant go wrong with CZP or AMS or Mishimoto
