  1. Want a 400Z to modify, should I start with NISMO?

I haven’t seen anyone use that name in a year or two, but I knew what you meant. if modifications are what you are targeting, the sport model is the most cost effective. Many also like the simplicity of the interior. Big brakes and LSD are your big ticket items, but if you are building a car...
  2. Misha roasted the Nissan Z

Nissan is bringing back body on frame RWD V-6 powered trucks and SUVs. Mainly because that’s what they got because unlike other companies, they were going bankrupt when others were doubling down on EV strategies. So this move back to simplicity is really benefiting Nissan.
  3. Misha roasted the Nissan Z

I thought Silverados and F150s dominate that 1/2 ton space?
  4. ANC/ASE

Are there others that don’t mind the ASE/ANC? I was expecting to buy the car and hate it, but it doesn’t bother me.
  5. JR oil solenoid block off plate

Hussain at RB is one of the experts on the VR30, so I’d trust his judgement. I was also told by a reliable source at Nissan that dealer service bays look for this mod and could reject warranty claims. As such, being OCD about charging the oil early seems like a better path.
  6. Misha roasted the Nissan Z

Correct, especially with Nissan limiting production of all Zs in 2027. Nissan isn’t go to catch Toyota building performance sports cars as they are a tiny portion of the overall market, but they can use the Z to rebuild their tarnished brand and make cars like Frontiers, pathfinders, Xterras and...
  7. Misha roasted the Nissan Z

Two different cars, built for different use cases. Pushing a stock performance hard around the track then complaining that’s its soft and not confident is like ordering the most perfect hamburger and complaining that it doesn’t taste like steak. If Nissan would have stiffened everything else up...
  8. Misha roasted the Nissan Z

This is the jacked European guy right? Annoying review which states the obvious. The use case is misguided as the Performance model is targeting grand touring and daily driver. Matt Farah (smoking tire) ran into brake fade, rev limiter and similar suspension instability issues on the track as...
  9. 2027 MT Nismo Z POV

does anyone know why the exhaust varies based on the transmission?
  10. 2027 NISMO upgrade questions...

How much did you pick the Nismo intake up for as I may target buying one on sale. I can be patient and wait for those killer 25% off accessories emails and fliers to arrive in the mail.
  11. 2027 NISMO upgrade questions...

Not sure why it is this way, but it seems people trust mods more when they are dealer installed. Otherwise, they lower the value of the car. I keep cars for 10 years, so resale isn’t my primary concern.
  12. 2027 MT Nismo Z POV

any idea how much unsparing weight was removed with the two piece rotors on the 2027?
  13. 2027 MT Nismo Z POV

Normally manuals hold up better over time and can handle more power that an aut due to inherent simplicity. However, Sarah-N-Tuned stated in her reviews of both the Nismo 9AT and 6MT performance models that the output torque handling capabilities of the P 9AT are 500lb/ft while the 6MT is 300+...
  14. 2027 NISMO upgrade questions...

Dealer installed OEM performance accessories help resale.
  15. EcuTek Tuning - Nissan has blocked the OBD port on ‘25+

This makes sense as the Nissan Consult-III service center firmware was leaked years ago and ported to low cost OBD HW that anyone can obtain online. Smash the sunroof, plug in the dongle, run the "Lost Keys" function and away you go. This is why so many Z/Q/Gs get stolen. The irony is that...
  16. EcuTek Tuning - Nissan has blocked the OBD port on ‘25+

Did they block the port to prevent theft as well? No more Nissan products at takeovers?
  17. Sway Bars: What did you choose & why?

I second Stillen as I run these on my car as they seem to understand the FM platform better than most (i.e. bigger is not always better) and will pick up the phone and talk to you about their products if you call (located in SoCal). I also like that they target reuse of the factory sway bar...
  18. Added a Spare to my 2024 Performance Z

The Akenono 4 piston 355mm front calipers are the same on both cars if I'm not mistaken, so the temp spare you would need is the Sport Sedan/Coupe's 18X4" T145/70R18, MPN# 40300-JK00B: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234803374723 Sport model Coupes sometimes come with 19" wheels, but the spare is the...
  19. Oil Recommendation

Another great example of refinement is the FM platform. Circa-2003 launch, yes, but with each new generation Nissan has made improvements. I mean, near center weight distribution with independent double-wishbone in the front with an independent multi-link rear doesn't need reinvention. Toyota...
  20. Oil Recommendation

1.5%....at 22MPG average, that's .33 MPG, which explains why it's hard to notice. But if you are Toyota selling 2M+ cars a year, it's significant. The Honda VCM function that runs on all their VTEC Earth Dreams V-6s is another example: https://www.vcmtuner.com/pages/honda-acura-lawsuit Turn...
