Suspension question related to Daily and not Track use.

Was the difference going from Perf to '24 Nismo good or bad in ride quality?
Same question for '24 Nismo to '27 Nismo?
from Perf to '24 Nismo: Nor good or bad. Soft to hard... I would say. The 24 Nismo seemed very hard to ride but one could get used to it.
From 24 to 27 Nismo, I think the 27 suspension is a bit softer. More forgiving on roads.

I would bet you are feeling the reduced unsprung weight in the front which lets the suspension better do it's job. Nissan softened the front shock valving by a smidge as it has less weight to deal with. That should improve the ride quality overall.

Probably. But one thing that feels different; and I could be wrong, is the "Gs". I am taking the same roads as always. The same curves... and taking them the same way I used to do it in the 24 Nismo. For some reason, it feels as if the 24 was firmer...

Interesting. Good to compare on the same roads, did you take it matching the G-meter readings in the corners? This is good the front end is more predictable, not jarring, what about the rear? I bet Nissan similarly tuned more compliance less damping.

No matching the G-meter readings in the corners since I didn't do that with the 24. Just going by feel. Taking the same path back & forth every day. The suspension is definitely different; not as hard. This is good but it might have sacrificed cornering abilities. Not sure. One would have to have access to both 24 and 27 models to compare.

I have a feeling the 27 Nismo feels like my 24 Nismo with Eibach Springs. On a scale of 1 - 100, with 100 being hard like concrete floors, the suspension in the 24 Nismo felt like 95 or 90, which I felt was super perfect considering I live in a area where the roads are near pristine(country back roads in North Georgia). However the Eibach are progressive springs and the car is still very firm but now feels like a 85 or 80 on the same scale. I miss the stock springs but wish they sat 30mm lower like the Eibach.

Finally, after waiting like a dog by the dinner table for some crumbs to watch a Nismo POV, I found the one below earlier this morning:

BUT, it is useless. Kirk said that the press will Not get a chance to drive these models outside the track. Just by watching the video; even though there is no actual POV from the videographer, I can see that the Nismo with Manual Transmission will never be better on the track than the AT. Nissan was correct.
I've been driving manuals since the mid-late 70's. We grew up knowing that manuals were better than automatics in every way. But, as much as I hate to admit it, that is no longer the case. The only advantage I could honestly see from a manual; besides satisfying my own manual craving, would be the maintenance.
I don't know if I will be able to drive one this year... but I still suspect that I will not be impressed enough to switch from the AT one.
Normally manuals hold up better over time and can handle more power that an aut due to inherent simplicity.

However, Sarah-N-Tuned stated in her reviews of both the Nismo 9AT and 6MT performance models that the output torque handling capabilities of the P
9AT are 500lb/ft while the 6MT is 300+

I guess in time we will find the limits of both once tuners get a hold of the palatform.

I really think it's just dropping 20lbs up front. And the new tires are an unknown variable. The suspension was only softened like 5% to adjust mid corner damping on real roads with so much less weight. Unsprung weight really does make that big of a difference. Softer and less weight on real roads will feel faster as the tires can maintain better contact. And then of course the manual is just lighter overall.

I dropped 15lbs of unsprung mass off the front of my 124 and had to do the exact same thing with softening the damping on my ohlins to compensate. It feels so much better in ride and handles mid corner bumps much better, which leads to better handling on real roads.

Oh. What exhaust did Nissan put on the manual nismo? Same as the auto?

any idea how much unsparing weight was removed with the two piece rotors on the 2027?

Unfortunately not... the same as the performance MT.

Nissan could've knocked off more weight if they made the manual Z Nismo come with the automatics exhaust. The manual exhaust is around 50+ lbs but when I weighed my Nismo Z exhaust it was a lightweight 35 lb. My Stillen Comp exhaust is heavier at 37 lbs.

Do you still have your exhaust? I'd buy it from you.
