Metallic, pearl, whatever the difference, there is definitely flake in the paint. This is why we see it having that blueish color in so many pics and vids depending on the lighting/angle. If it was flat it wouldn't be changing color like that. You can see the flake "sparkle" as he passes by with the camera in the videos below slow mo.

Not metallic, but he does say there is pearl. It must be very subtle like the pearl on the yellow I saw, I am not really seeing it on videos or photos.

Boulder grey (kby) is a 2 stage (base coat / clear coat) paint.
It is not a 3 stage that has a "pearl" or effect coat in between.
BG would be considered metallic.

Color names are confusing and may say "pearl", "metallic", "mica", etc. That's just the name, not the process.
Pearls are nice but costly to repair.

Do you know if Seiran Blue is a 2 or 3 stage? I was trying to find a list of the colors and which are tri-coat pearls.

Hmm, I do like this color, but being a popular color, they're still willing to sacrifice:rolleyes:...

"Quality, however, comes at the cost of variety, and changing out paint colors between metallics and non-metallics is a hassle that requires extra complexity; it's messy and expensive."

The only hint I’ve seen is in this link to the Aus reservation system…suggests White and Red are tri coat…but no mention of it on the others

Yea Nissan's white typically is..they had a black before as well that was tricaot too (i think it was on the J30/Q45), which was a nice black-purple. They won't do more then 1-2 tri-coat colors. Unfortunately..

Does anybody know for a fact if the crossbar at 7:53 on can be used as an approved harness bar? I’m not talking for street use, but competition.
If I remember correctly I asked the same question when i had my 370Z and the answer is NO.

It's not hate for other people's color preference, it's just hate for the color. You do you, boo boo.
I would have never guess that you aren't a big fan of this color. ??

That boulder gray looks like hot trash. It's just shiny primer.

Thanks, wonder if it can be replaced with an approved one, if solid frame mounted.

From what I've seen, those properly using a harness have been mounting theirs on a separate harness bar or a welded steel cage. I haven't seen anyone replace the stock cross bar with a specific harness bar or know of a company that makes a direct replacement.
