How did you put your Z on a 250 lb diet?
Motorcycle battery, remove trimmings from engine bay, interiors, crash bars, washer reservoir/motors, no exhaust, dump out of the downpipe, driveshaft, airbags, horn, charcoal canisters, replace existing steel braces with lighter aluminum alternatives, steel brackets holding wires removed and in lieu using zip ties. Whatever my tuner tells me to remove It's gone... Might be more but I forgot.

Make sure you don't take out the driver seat to lose more weight. You won't have anything to sit on while you're driving. LOL!

You keep taking out more objects in your car, there won't be much holding the car together. LOL!

Don't be like this dude man: LOL!

Anyone know if you can put 19x10.5 back wheels with the 315/30R19 tires? I lowered my Z to a 1.2"

If you can fit 315/30R19 to 19x10.5 wheels, would the tires stick out a little because of the width? The tire wall would not look flat to the wheels.
Not a problem for the wheel size in general - i would check the recommended wheel width for the tires that you are looking to buy. For example Michelin pilot sport cup2 wheel width requirement is 10.5 - 11.5, so 11” is ideal but 10.5 will work. No idea if the tire will fit your lowered car…

I am wondering if I went with the wall size of 30 instead of 35, would the bulging be less?

Any reason why some of you went with the tire size 305/35R19 instead of 305/30R19 for less bulging?

Your diameter will shrink that's all.

35 would be ideal for beefy tires, 30 would be thinner

I'm running 305/30R19 on 19 x 11+18 on the rears. its pretty square and beefy, no rubbing whatsoever

The fronts were a different story,

285/35R19 on 19x10.5 +22. Rubbing hard until I got a body guy to trim some pieces off and properly roll the fenders.

Not rubbing anymore

Thinner side walls could improve weight reduction, save gas, clearance, speed and lower the height of the car.

tbh the difference is sooo tiny I doubt it'll make a difference.

Weight reduction maybe (depending on wheels and tyre selection), gas efficiency not really (I'm still at 8.5L/100km) clearance negligible depending on ride height, speed not a big difference maybe 1km/h slower, and lowering the height of car by maybe 1mm (again depends on your suspension setup)

IMHO 305R 30 or 35 should be alright with your wheels. It's more suited for +11", but that .5" difference shouldn't hurt in performance wise. If you're going for that stanced stretched tyre look, then you would defs have to go for 275 or less

The rear tires are perfect, don't hit anything. It's the front. The fender liner is getting scuffed up a bit there and now has a perfectly sized hole where you see the front tires hit the liner. It's not bad but something to take notice for.

After driving your 255/40R19 and the 305/35R19 tires, do you recommend that I get the side wall for the front 35 and the back 30?

Or do you like the 40 in the front and the 35 in the back?

I still like the 40 in front and 35 in the back after driving a while. I like the thick sidewall and a tall tire. I would definitely recommend my setup.

Anyone know the reason why most automakers put the side wall 40 fronts and 35 for the rears???

Why not 35 fronts and 35 for the rears? The car would level evenly and not have the front end sticking up a little.

usually it’s done that way with a staggered set up because the “35” or “40” series refers to the side wall and it is done by percent of width. So, like a Nismo Z, a 255/40-19 and 285/35-19 you have about the same side wall height. Hope that helps.
