Anyone know if you can put 19x10.5 back wheels with the 315/30R19 tires? I lowered my Z to a 1.2"

If you can fit 315/30R19 to 19x10.5 wheels, would the tires stick out a little because of the width? The tire wall would not look flat to the wheels.

I wouldnt go 315 on a 10.5” wheel. 11” maybe.
This is a representation of 285/35 and 315/30 on a 19x10.5. Ignore the offset.

I have 305/35R19s on 19x10.5. It fits perfectly for my setup.

Different tire models have different width contact patches also. If you go to Tire Rack and look up the specs for a specific tire it will tell you the manufacturers suggested tire width range. What you can do and what you should do are often times two different things. In general, for a tire to sit square on a rim, a 275-9.5”, 285-10”, 295-10.5”, 305-11” and so on. Usually going up or down a size is totally fine.

The tire is not bulging out from the wheel???

If that is the case, I might get the 305/35R19s for the back.

These wheels are brand new and I really like them. I would hate to throw them away just because I want to get wider tires. I probably should've thought about getting the widest wheels in the first place before buying the set I have now.

For your reference, this is 315/30R19 on an 11” wide wheel:

That looks pretty nice! But since I lowered my Z, now I am thinking getting a 11" width may not be a good idea. The tires will for sure rub against the fender. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

In theory, with the correct offset on an 11” wheel you should be fine.

I am also wondering if by putting bigger wheels, the engine will work harder to spin those 11" wheels and wider tires. The weight gain will make you lose horsepower. Wider wheels do look fantastic and look more aggressive but I would have to sacrifice the horsepower.

But using the 305/35R19s tires with the 19x10.5 wheels, I might not lose that much horsepower.

My current wheel and tire setup came right off my lowered 370Z Nismo and there was no rubbing at all (1.5” drop). Proper offsets and good alignment are key.

The wider tires also have the benefit of added grip which I always felt the platform could use more of even back on the Z34. As mentioned, you can offset the additional weight by reducing unsprung mass in other ways. In my case, it was by replacing the heavy OE cast iron rotors with a lighter aftermarket 2-piece design.
