US market production is now at least past 1700 ( almost 1800) units so there is a disconnect between that and sales for sure

I'm 100% sure Nissan doesn't want it going down like this. It's affecting everything they do (well, except for continuing to make Ariya commercials despite severe shortages). If they knew the numbers were going to be astronomically low, why take preorders and not deliver? I feel like they just took that revenue to a profit with other sales
As I understand it, assuming the EPA regulations are implemented in the current proposed form, the initiative would begin with MY 2027 (so, really in CY 2026) and it would be a rolling reduction in overall GHG emissions from that point to 2032 within each particular manufacturer. It's super-ambitious and will be difficult to implement since the US lacks the charging infrastructure required to adopt the enormous number of EVs needed to meet the 2032 goal (something like 67% per manufacturer is the estimate).I'm 100% sure Nissan doesn't want it going down like this. Even though it's a mostly recycled platform, they still don't want the production line idled right after investing in it. They're going to lose money for certain on the Z, there's no way out.....
And, the current US government is very close to setting the actual date that Nissan can no longer certify the Z for sale in US. I believe it's 2027.... we're supposed to be adopting regulations similar to EU emissions regulations that prevented the Z from being sold there.
Just curious now, with such low sales going for their sports and performance trim, will they even bother pushing for a nismo trim next year?
I've been hoping for a nismo trim. I live in an area where interior modifications are illegal. Was hoping for a nismo trim so I don't have to do any significant modding.
Wow, such low numbers. Sounds like our Z's will remain unicorns for a while.Found some info about the current situation in Japan
January to May 2023 is 435. The most recent May was 67 units. It is said that there are more than 5,000 backorders, and at the current pace of production for Japan, it may take more than five years to deliver.
Perhaps i'll have to "settle" for a new mustang, supra, or m2 in a few years lol. or new rx-7 (if it comes out?)It is said that there are more than 5,000 backorders, and at the current pace of production for Japan, it may take more than five years to deliver.
