To the worry list though I also have an addition: the switch from hydraulic PS to EPS. I loved the feel of the hydraulic on the 370Z, Nissan had better not eff that up or I am out.
Fellow brother! I am in resounding agreement here. The steering will make or break this car for me.

I loved by Q50, but one of the biggest "ah-ha!" moments I had is when I had a brake fluid flush and some other maintenance done on it and got a QX70S for a loaner car. I had such a blast driving that car and 80% of it was the steering feel. The G37/FX/QX70 cars were LIGHTYEARS ahead of the steering feel of the Q50. I even had ordered a Q50S specifically without direct adaptive steering - mine was equipped with the baseline EPS setup with a physical steering column. Not stellar.

Completely agreed. Having said that...My 370Z with "hydraulic" steering felt completely dead to me compared to the boxster I had gotten rid of. Haven't ever had road feel like that in any car. You could feel the front wheels grip and flex around the corner. 370Z never even came close to that.

Don't know how official this is, but found this as I was looking for Nissan dealers in Cali...

I like their marking strategy..yet another dealer looking to not charge stupid mark ups.

But I hate that date.
When Nissan Aus opened their books it said release date August, and when I saw that I thought…that better be worst case scenario.
Now even that’s gone, replaced with ”arrival 2022”
I was hoping early orders would be August and the rest a bit later when I saw the change, but at this rate I think we are going to be lucky to even see it this year.

I know I sound like a broken record, and I know there are challenges that they don’t normally have….but come on Nissan keep people who have given you money up to date. Even if it’s to say it won’t be available to August/ September we would appreciate the openness and honesty more than the guessing game, and your losing more and more buyers just because you refuse to send us an email once a month with updates …really bad launch strategy

Yeah. My definition of crazy markup and their definition of crazy markup may not jibe...

But maybe I'm the crazy one here.

LOL at their "no crazy dealer markup" only to go to the store and see $9,999 market adjustment.

For me a thing is, how long the COVID hangover is dragging out. In terms of vehicles, I'm reading estimates of years for vehicle chip production and other stuff. People on multi year waiting lists for some vehicles. I feel sometimes, there is a "new norm", where it's more ok to simply not have things work so well.

I'm getting kind of resigned to the reality of having fun with my current vehicles, and checking back in a few years, to see if vehicle availability finally recovers. Taking solace in the fact I happened to buy 3 vehicles just prior to the full blown COVID era, so I'm not in the unfortunate position as some folks who desperately need a vehicle.

I'm just not getting a good overall vibe of things working well again for a while.

Yeah I picked a hell of a time to buy a new car lol. At this point if I can't get the Z during summer time...I'm just going to go elsewhere.

I'm going to try to be patient, there are few other potentially good competing cars coming out that I'm considering. The new redesigned Honda Civic Type R, Ford Mustang GT, and potentially a MT for the Supra, to name a few. Good things come to those who wait and I'm not paying dealer markups.

Right Dotson. I'm betting they won't have 0% financing for 72 months like I have now either.

In the middle of last year, I got 0.9% 60 mo. from Nissan on a 2022 Pathfinder MSRP +$500 cashback. I think I got a little bit lucky considering the supply chain issues. Regardless, I won't pay a markup on any new vehicle. I'm not that desperate. Having to pay MSRP is painful enough.
Another thing that concerns me is the climbing gas prices. Premium fuel is pushing near $4 a gal around me. I wouldn't want a brand new sports car that costs a fortune to drive.
It will be interesting to see how this Ukraine/Russia conflict pans out. I read a news article that said that even if the US started ramping up oil production, it would take 18 mo. - 24 mo. before it has an effect on prices at the pump. And what if the current administration isn't in a big hurry to increase oil production because they see it as an opportunity to prevent sales of more ICE vehicles. There is some significant uncertainty in the world right now that makes me a bit cautious.
