Duties?? Sucks being canadian no one has these parts in canada yet or wont

I scoured the Canadian dealers I know of and none of em had the CAI

Not sure on duties yet as they shipped out yesterday.
I can send you a message and/or update this post when I get the invoice.

Everything is lining up well
Picking up the Nismo in 4-6weeks

CAI should be here in a couple weeks

Also picked up the dual Tomei full cat-back!
Should be shipping out in February

Being up in here in Canada
Won't have everything up and running until spring, just in time for driving season
Will break in the Nismo quick and get the goodies installed )))

Will make a post when everything is sorted out.

Im hoping your going to get the nismo exhaust! I want your opinion on it too! I had a nismo exhaust on my 350z and it was by far the best sounding one.

probably not. the track exhaust is a bit much for my purposes and I dont like the big fat muffler on the street one compared to the smaller resonator. im fine with it stock.

got an update on this. I heard from 2 different sources that these were temporarily pulled from the market because the emissions/ CARB testing wasnt done on them. I cancelled my order for the moment just because there was no ETA. I know they are made by AMS but the AMS im guessing doesnt need to be emissions tested because they are not a warranted product from Nissan? cant confirm this is why just something I heard.

I will look into getting them again later if I can find a good deal again


for now I will just keep the K&N drop ins

I got the Z1 drop ins and I think I’ll leave it at that. I’m torn if I should go exhaust or no, which is why I was hoping you were going to do the Nismo exhaust lol

Exhaust is worth it. Much needed in the sound department. I'm rocking the HKS Dual Muffler and I've been pretty satisfied with it. AWE Touring Cat-Back System sounds really good and the Fi system sounds pretty good too.

My guess is Nissan, even Nismo USA division, don’t want to sell “race car only” parts bc of potential legal liability vis-à-vis CARB/EPA and warranty issues like you mentioned.
Cai should have no trouble getting carb eo #, just gotta pay kalifornia their pound of flesh for testing it.

AMS can have everyone e-sign a “I swear it’s for off road use only” online waiver during purchase. Nissan probably isn’t comfortable with that.

the NISMO CAI where on the market for like a full year but it said CARB pending. maybe there was a deadline of when it had to be tested. so im guessing they had to pull the whole line just because of California? again im not even 100% sure that is the reason but was told so my people who seem informed and had a set ordered as well.

Iirc, at least 11 other states follow Cali/CARB standards. I think even the feds let carb steer the ship regarding aftermarket performance parts. AMS may have gotten the Nismo USA contract by promising carb cert, they didn’t get it done quickly enough and epa/and or Cali sent Nissan a cease and desist letter. The potential fines are enormous for a company violating CARB compliance, talking potentially in the millions of $$ depending on the infraction. Holly brands got hammered a few years ago, APR (part of their sub brands) had to discontinue stage 2 hard parts and tunes, and Hooker (another sub brand) got hammered for selling mustang long tube headers. Iirc, fine was in the millions.
