I like to think of it as an "entertainment expense", like an ESPN+ subscription.(Math)
...but I made room in the budget for "Fun Tax" lol.

Looks the rating was flipped for you before you changed the injectors. Lol.(Math)
I've actually been averaging 21.4+ MPG in the Z if I don't run the air (or race people). My '16 Jeep Cherokee needed fuel injectors. Before I changed them, I was getting 18 MPG. After change 19-20MPG. Yes, the premium is more ($3.26 reg vs $3.92 prem), but I made room in the budget for "Fun Tax" lol.
According to the Auto Refuel Avg meter, I get 20.4 MPG if the traffic behaves. It goes down to about 18.8MPG if the traffic is heavy and I drive aggressively with the AC on.Looks the rating was flipped for you before you changed the injectors. Lol.
What's your avg with the A/C on? Just for reference.
This is an option.I never realized that the bottom of the door cards was Carbon Fiber, or "Carbon Fiber". It does do a good job of protecting the door, but the speaker takes the brunt of my steel toed boots tho.

I agree that it works pretty well. I'm hoping it stands up to the test of time.
BTW, thanks for posting the picture. This is installed on a lot of the cars I looked at online, but I don't think I saw a picture of it before I bought my car.
I wonder if we should start an "options" thread with pictures are the various options installed or not. Some of that information is already scattered throughout the forum (I remember a kick plate discussion a while back).I didnt know this, thanks for sharing. Thanks! Keeping the Black clean and looking good is a challenge. The ride quality so far on Michigan roads and construction is I'd say more compliant for touring. It feels kind of weighted and good quality. However it does keep the car mostly flat going around corners quickly.Congrats on the new Z and thanks for the reporting. It's great to get a perspective on some of interesting features and observations. I would have an interest in your observations on the ride quality for city driving or longer road trips - tightly strung or a little more compliant for touring on stretches of less than perfect roads. Thanks, and enjoy - your Z looks terrific.
It's actually fantastic! It's my favorite job so far. I've been doing for over 4 years now as my PRIMARY INCOME and have been able to obtain and support an apartment, and show that I can pay for the Z with my DoorDash income. It has its ups and downs (sometimes more downs than ups lol), but it can be a worthwhile thing to start and keep going.Oh man I seriously considered this. I don't normally drive, my primary transportation is my MetroCard. I bought this car just for fun and was looking for excuses to drive. I looked into doing something like door dash but it didn't seem to be worth it.
Let us know how it goes![]()
Welcome to the club - you are going to love the Z, but it’s too cool of a car for DoorDash!!5 Things I've noticed Daily-ing the Z:
5. The rear view is pretty good. Even with some pretty large plastic bags of recyclables, I could still see out of the rear window. You can put some fairly tall items in the trunk.
4. The passenger-side quarter window is "useful", but the B/C pillar can hide like 2 cars side-by-side at a 45-degree angle. Pulling out of Drive Thru's is a task.
3. The Automatic shifter is weird, but you get used to it. If you liked the famed Killer Shifter in the Jeep Grand Cherokee that killed an actor, it's similar but much more thought out. Neutral takes a half beat (Manual says 0.5 secs) bump of the shifter to engage, and Park as a button for Millennials is different. I like it though.
2. THE GAUGE CLUSTER SHOWS THE SPEED LIMIT! I know this is a small thing, but I buy whole cars based on the small things like this. I appreciate it.
and #1. You can pull up to you destination, and just turn the car off. Like DON't park the car. just... turn it off. It puts ITSELF into park and turns off! This might be a Nissan thing already, but I'm impressed! It also will just put itself into park if you open the door too.
This is fun. Learning about a new car, yes, but also having a car that is exciting enough to talk about.
More to come!
