Thinking about this myself. I apologize if I missed this but I didn't see/read anything about it holding more oil. 6 quarts is fine with the factory pan just not reading anything that shows extra capacity. It wouldn't be the first time I overlooked something.
Dorman rates it at 6.5 qts capacity per their specs. The factory pan leaves 0.8 qts undrained, and requires 5.6 qt oil changes.

5.6 + 0.8 = 6.4
Mine took 6.6 qts totally dry with filter change, so their rated 6.5 should be about perfect during an oil change considering a little undrained residual.
6.6 - 6.4 = 0.2
