It's beautiful! Got a link for these? How hard is the install?

Edit: Think I found them:
https://www.evo-r.com/store/product/nissan-z-rz34-carbon-katana-roof-trims

Edit #2: Ordered :D
Awesome! Yep - those are them. They’re very easy to install mainly because the fitment is outstanding. They fully wrap around the katana with zero slack. It’ll take a while from them to arrive btw unless they have stock on hand. They’re all custom made in Taiwan.

What I did to install is:
- Wipe down or clean the plastic (I used lens wipes)
- Wipe down with rubbing alcohol or acetone
- Applied 3M adhesive promoter (I bought a cheap pen applicator for this step from Amazon)

I have a general distrust of parts that only attach via 3M so the adhesive promoter made me feel better about it. Evo-R sells other parts too that I’m interested in now lol

Sweet. Thank you for the instructions on how you did it. I probably would have done something similar but never used adhesive promoter so good tip!

I am not a big carbon fiber guy like you said too but I was looking to black out / darken the katana's on my rosewood Z. I don't do wraps (myself) and didn't want to have to remove them and re-install so this seems like a great alternative.

They do have some other cool stuff on that site worth looking at.

Weather here in FL is finally warm enough to install my Evo-R carbon fiber katana covers from CZP! I’m actually not big on carbon fiber but this looks sick and does a great job of blacking out the car a bit.

I just found an interesting bullet point in the GT-R owners manual.....

*When the vehicle is delivered, the engine oil is set to 10mm(0.39in) below the H mark for optimal high-performance driving. The engine oil can be filled up to the H mark if performance driving is not engaged.

Based on that, I'm pretty positive at this point, that they intend the Z to be from 9mm below the High line, up to the High line at most.
Well brother, I have no doubt that may be the case for the GTR. I'm saying that's not going to be the case with the Z.
Do you happen to know which OBD2 module would be good for our cars to signal an alarm for high temps, or low pressure on the oil? I would really like to purchase one.

In reference to monitoring engine temps/press w/ alarms the first one that comes to mind is EcuTek.

Yes I know it's not the case with the Z, since the Z needs to be all the way up (or almost all the way). I was just pointing out that it's strange that they want the level lower than max. It's the first time I saw that. Other brands ask for a slight overfill. I guess we have to trust the manufacturers and not try to "guess" what the right thing to do is...

Thanks for the tip on the Ecu Tek, I'll take a look at it.

I was checking on an order from Z1 Motorsports. I figure while I was on the phone why not ask about our little oil discussion. So I talked with one their guys that races drift cars and is part of the crew that prepares our cars (not to be confused with a GTR) for track events. He was familiar with the oil level statement in the manual for high speed events. Without hesitation he said, we put 6 quarts in. The capacity is 5.6. To me that's right in the 9mm range. I won't get into the part of the conversation where the word "common sense alone" kept coming up about someone reading the statement. I mean, it's only Z1 Motorsports probably the highest respected Z shop in the USA. For the record, your the only one that was or is guessing.

I paid her off.
She is mine.

ALL MINE!!!

It's a great feeling to own something like a Z and be the only owner of it.
Congrats, that's great!

Did you see anything bad the 1st time? Any noticeable difference when driving? I'm considering this myself...

No change in driving feel, but the Redline does run cooler than the OEM gear oil.

I changed the fluid at 1,700 miles and again now at 2,600 miles. Both times the drain magnet was covered in metallic sludge, but definitely more during the 1st initial break-in change. Here's a pic of the towel after wiping the drain plug magnet clean during today's #2 change:

The fluid itself was still a golden transparent color so I suspect most of this was just flushing out the remnants from change #1.

I probably won't touch it again for another 2 years or 24k miles, which is the factory service interval.

I probably won't touch it again for another 3 years or 30k miles.
Thank you for the reply! Good info!

Modified/made phone mount. Had previously tried the vent mount and the one between the console and seat.

Two parts you need are from Amazon and cup coaster which I had laying around :) . The clamp I purchased was a big large but I like the contact it makes on the console and mount. It would probably hit the knee of a large passenger but I am sure you could try a smaller size/cut it down. Tested over 100 miles, so far its good.
