Crap, here we go… Not saying one is better or worse, but based on the little knowledge I have of mechanical stuff, putting a 20mm spacer on a wheel would have the same affect on the bearing as the same wheel/tire with a 20mm lower offset. A bearing mounted vertically with an upward load is impacted more negatively the further that load is from the vertical center line of the bearing. Taking it to the extreme just as an example, a wheel/tire with a 1 foot spacer would induce a lot more radial load on a bearing than without the spacer because the same upward force being applied is further away from the bearing (more “leverage” may be a better way to say it). The forces would be the same with that same wheel/tire with a negative 1 foot offset.

There is something to be said about the preference of correct offset wheels over spacers, especially bolt-on spacers. However, properly tightened A ‘normal’ size spacer isn’t going to be a problem. I look at it like stacked LEGOs. The less LEGOs you have in a stack of the same height is going to be more stable (less points that can flex). With a car and spacers you’re talking about a really short stack of LEGOs, so the instability is incredibly small…as long as everything’s tight.

I wholeheartedly agree that bearing quality/longevitry has decreased over time.

This is correct and a great way to explain it.

Also the Nismo is ~ 13mm lower offset stock so Nissan obviously thought at least 13mm wouldn't hurt.

The spacers have the new studs that you’ll mount the wheel to.
Ok. What I was thinking is sometimes the stock studs are long enough that they will protrude beyond the spacer and interfere with the back of the wheel. They were like that on my miata and I had to trim the studs.

Someone’s posted about that here. Not sure if it was the 10mm or 15mm bolt-on spacers, but one is too short (OEM studs hit the wheel pockets). Almost certain 20+ is fine.

15mm won’t fit on the front of the performance wheels without trimming the factory studs.

I'm thinking of going 25mm on a stock performance. Does anybody know if I need a thinner sidewall tire to avoid rubbing or is the stock size okay?

I have spent the last few weeks researching the spacers for the performance model, it looks like the consensus is 20MM. 15MM wont work, and 25MM pokes out a bit in the rear, so it depends what you want. 20-25MM will work on the stock performance wheels.

Have anyone out there install a set of wheel spacer in a 2024 Nismo Z using factory wheels? I not planning to lower the Z. Just want the wheel flush with the fender. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated. Brand & thickness.

I have a 2024 Z Performance and lowered with coilovers. Now really need some Z1
Wheel spacers.
I can't decide on the Z1 wheel spacers in stock or lowered version. My Z is lowered about 1" front and 1.25" rear but I don't like it when the tires stick out a bit.
How are people liking the lowered version on their dropped Z and do you wish you have gotten the 20mm stock version instead?
Hoping you guys can chime in. Thank you.

Not installed yet, but I got extended studs and 10mm spacers from Z1. I'm on stock wheels/tires and have coilovers coming in a few weeks. My plan is to install the studs and spacers before the coilovers to judge where they sit.

The NISMO fitment (at least '24-'26 at this point) is slightly different than the Performance. The outer lip sits 13mm further out on all 4 corners of the NISMO. So a Perf with 25mm is like a NISMO with 12mm.

Assuming the fitment data is accurate or close, 10mm all around for me will be like a Perf on 23mm.

Keep us posted. I'm in the same boat.

Installed 25mm on a, lowered Z. Looks great. Anyone deciding from 20mm or 25mm..the 25mm on a 1.25"+ drop looks great.
