As a daily, would you go for a manual trans or the Nismo auto?

Couldn't agree more. For those that think the difference is just a couple of thicker swaybars... the Nismo has chassis reinforcements. Sorry, but having owned a MT performance first and having changed to bigger swaybars, there is no comparison. The only issue with the Nismo is the price 🤣🤣
Good to know it's still way better in Nismo
I was under the impression the standard manual w some mods could compete

Is the stiffness of the car daily able? Also guy who mentioned engine rebuild why U need to do that? If possible I want to keep mine semi modded with warranty and never need a rebuild

The Nismo is like 3 bolted in braces... Easily added to any Z.

Exactly, it’s just an extra rear brace, front brace etc. You can find those braces on eBay for a couple hundred bucks. Granted there is an extra cooler on the Nismo; but it’s easy enough to upgrade the HX on a performance.

I daily the nismo in Sydney and feels fine to me. Mind you a lot of my driving is highways and you definitely feel the rougher / older roads. Every pothole is a bit stressful too since the car is a bit lower vs the base.

I could see if you're in a suburb with dodgy roads and driving a lot then it could get annoying.

But personally I like the feedback and I don't think it's too extreme.

Daily driving a Nismo gets some getting used to. Specially if one is switching from the sport or performance models. It feels hard at the beginning. I got used to it already.

The chassis had some welding on it. It is more than that.

I put a set of Michelins on mine and it takes a lot of that road vibration out. Those Dunlops have really stiff sidewalls.

3 rear braces, different brakes, engine coolers, better intercooling, different injector map, different tune, larger wheels with bigger tires. If you add it all up, aftermarket says it's about $12,000 in parts.

You always see this type of justification on a brand performance model. For those that have been modding for years it doesn't add up. You want to compare a stock Nismo to a Stock Z then you win, give the difference in money to a stock z owner to modify and u lose and they will have cash left in their pockets and a lower payment.

I would have gotten a Nismo if it was manual, still might look at them when they come out. For me, someone that doesn't keep vehicles stock it is not the best choice dollar to performance. Even the Performance loses on the dollar to performance compared to the Sport with a competent modder.

What's a hx and is the cooler causes more issues for tuning?

As a fully modded car I relate to this heavily
But with the head cracking issue I really want to keep my warranty lol

The braces are easy to install and found on eBay cheap. Heat changer is a few hundred bucks, and the shocks and springs for a Nismo I’ve seen on eBay for $800-900. In my opinion the best part of the Nismo is the wheels and tires. The Nismo is a great little package, but personally I feel like there isn’t enough performance increase to justify the cost. A gently used Z Nismo with super low miles can be found in the mid to low 40’s to me that’s a great deal at this point.

HX = heat exchanger
This is what cools the intercoolers' anti-freeze/coolant.

I think once you’ve added all the mods, beefed everything up, tuned it, added a body kit… etc. Cost wise you have spent the difference with a 1yr old Nismo if you include your own labor.

There are other issues to contend with:
Insurance- You need to declare all the mods & so then you’re legal.. but they prob still won’t cover the full cost of replacement. And then the policy costs more?
Value- The mods prob don’t add any resale value. Except maybe to another modder, if they wanted exactly what you did. You always sink more than you can ever get back.
Pollution- You can’t do most of that in CA… or any states where it needs to be CARB legal.

You got exactly what you wanted and you’ve built a Z race-car. šŸŽ But it’s still not a Nismo.

thanks
i think i needto get used to putting gas in at the right time, i was practicing rolling forwards and the bite point at the light by just leaving the car in first gear and playing with the cluthc on and off without stalling, but then struggled after haha

as i mentioned in another comment above however, strangely on a modified Z i had no issue and also a used stock Z.... hence why i wonder if thier "bite point" was adjusted on their cars.

im not sure why one of these comments were coming at me like im blaming the car rather then myself for not bneing used to it, but yeah i do want to know if i can adjust that pedal
There’s a lot of videos on YouTube that can help you refresh like I did, they explain the clutch more in depth and I used it before. Where I live is nothing but hills, and I needed to learn about hill control, but now I’m a pro, I only stall like once a month and it’s because I’m distracted at the light or I didn’t give it enough gas.

at first the car was forgiving, after hitting the break in period, it became less forgiving 🤣🤣

I want to get the nismo street clutch and was curious if it changes anything while shifting from
The first 3 gears.

Zondo racing is good for city driving
Conquer driving breaks everything down to the grit on manual
Casey the car guy focuses on going fast in manual

I drove a manual Civic in high school and after 20+ years needed a small refresher but then I got hooked on just perfecting it 😬🤣.

I do feel the psi drop when I depress the clutch though, but you can also see the rpm drop when it’s ā€œbitingā€ if that makes sense, and then start to feel that the clutch wants the 1st gear to go
