Finally took my car out of shipping mode after seeing a warning message for the first time. This would explain the seemingly random infotainment and drive computer resets

The "Storage fuse" isn't even labeled on the diagram in the car. Push it in = non storage.

I'm surprised it took this long for the message to pop up. Do you think that the fuse wasn't fully pushed in, and it popped back out?

Holy cow, you put almost 30,000 miles on the car in shipping mode?!?!? How is that even possible?
I don't even know what changes are made to the car in shipping mode (please let me know if you know), but I'm surprised it took this long for the message to pop up. Do you think that the fuse wasn't fully pushed in, and it popped back out?

I have had the drive computer randomly reset itself between drives which is indicated by the gauges defaulting to sport mode, plus mpg and tire pressures being wiped. Been worried for over a year that a wire loom was shorting somewhere and just kind of ignoring it. Recently during a cold spell, the drive computer reset after EVERY drive, even for a brief stop at a gas station This stopped happening when the weather warmed up again. I got the warning message while idling in a parking lot and it went away on it's own after some time.

This is 99% what happened. It happened to mine as well, but within a week of taking delivery.

Today was a big day for my Z, I got up at 5:30 AM and took my car in for some upgrades, including the CZP heat exchanger, oil cooler, and lower oil pan along with a fresh oil change.

Last but certainly not least, the Nismo bumper conversion kit that I bought from Z1 several months ago was installed. Overall things went smoothly, the bumper posed a few challenges (we're going to need a longer wiring harness for the sensors due to the different placement in the Nismo bumper).

This is something I've wanted to do to the car since I first saw the Performance, (orange) Heritage, and the Nismo at the dealer when I bought the car. The rectangular grill was the one and only complaint I had about the exterior aesthetic of the vehicle, and while I appreciate the throwback to the 350Z, I knew that sooner or later I was gonna swap with the Nismo.

Took the Nismo to the stealership before christmas to diagnose a P0171, P0507, and a P0106. I thought there was a loose hose in my Nismo CAI (I have a Nismo CAI, a Z1 catchcan + drainkit, and some other non-engine mods). Turns out it was a hole in the catch can drain line caused by it rubbing on the accessory belt. The hose has a 2" section that has been completely destroyed by rubbing. Removed the line a few days ago, and the codes have not come back.

So, here's a quick breakdown on costs:

Z1 Nismo Bumper Conversion Kit: $1520 (kit was on sale for $500 off when I bought it)
Nismo Fender Liners: $108
Shipping: $320
Tax: $145
Paint & Installation: $900
Current Total: $2993

I also plan on getting the bumper wrapped in PPF, which will be another $700. I prefer the side skirts and rear bumper of the Performance model, and without the red Nismo striping I think it comes together well. Some people might say "you could have just bought a Nismo" and maybe there's some validity to that, but I really wanted the manual transmission and the blue interior was a must for me. I bought in April 2024 so the manual Nismo hadn't been announced yet.

Now with all that said, it's clearly not a cheap project, and the bumper kit is now a little over $2k alone. Not entirely sure I'd do it again as it was a process that took several months and caused a fair amount of stress (and it still isn't 100% done)...but I do love how it transforms the look of the car.

Fresh rubber on the rears. Michelin PS4S spent 8700 miles on the front wheels, and 8,118 miles on the rear. Discount tire measured the tread depth at 2/32" and 3/32" when I went in for the second rotation (PS4S start at 7/32"). Yay, tire warranty.

Tires rotated? I’ve got a sport and you can’t rotate the tires due to different offsets between the front and rear wheels. Which Z trim do you have, I’m just curious.

Honestly I'm not sure what Discount Tire did during the "rotation" but I've never had issues. Have stock Sport rims as well.

Just learning about the different offsets now... sounds like a dumb decision by Nissan.
