Fast cars go fast, fast!
Saturday morning about 20 minutes into an hour drive I decided to pass a car. Really no traffic to speak of except for this guy I'd caught up to and, sure, I could have just sat behind him and stayed at 50, but I wanted to let it out a little since the Z was warmed up... Passing zone, no traffic, normal mode, left blinker, give it the beans and the backend broke loose. I was going sideways. I corrected and corrected again and then passed the guy. He probably peed a little. I know I did. Quite a spectacle.
The second thing that went through my mind was my three high school motorhead buddies coming home from cruising Hampton Beach in a 1970 Chevelle SS. Same thing happened when Dan went to pass a car and the 454 wouldn't stay straight and he sideswiped some guard rails. Nobody hurt and they drove it home, but it still sucked. He underestimated its' power and that was the only explanation he ever gave.
I guess I have to admit that this car could get me in trouble. Not just the 'caught speeding' type of trouble but the Darwin Award kind. I should know better.
Stay safe.

It's those terribly greasy S007s, Nissan spec'd the wrong tires for the Z's power. They will break loose on almost any turn if not careful on the throttle, dry and worse wet.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago as I was entering the freeway with a slight turn. The car broke loose at the back-end.

First 10,000 kms on my Z today while on a little road trip and it's time to shop for new tires because the original S007s are toast. They're a terrible tire.

I got a quote for a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport02s today; $1089.66 with tax. I know everyone loves Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's but I've had good luck Continentals. My only issue is waiting for the oem tires to wear out. I only have 2200 miles on them.

3M gloss black/or equivalent piano black vinyl wrap, it's a pretty damn close match with the rest of the plastic trim.

Got a s007 tire replaced in the rear. Only had 1400 miles and caught a screw in the sidewall. Not excited to spend $500 for it but also wasn't gonna swap all rubber with so few miles.

Today I received a quote for a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s tires; the price is $1089.66 including tax. I know everyone loves Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, but I was lucky with Continentals. My only problem is waiting for the manufacturer's tires to wear out. I've only driven them 2200 miles.
Which tires do you think are suitable for racing, providing good grip and preventing drift? What do you think of Michelin tires, and do you have any experience with better racing tires such as Toyo or others?
If you are going to use the car for racing, there are people here that can give you good advice. For running it as a sports car on public roads, the Michelins or Contis would be considered ultra-high performance and should be good replacements. I like Continental for a little better wet road grip, a little longer tread life and a little less cost. But, your mileage may vary.

That looks nice. I have a gun metal grey sport, it will add to the overall look. The brushed aluminum look is kind of eh on the grey.
