Gave her new shoes. Thought hard about the Volk wheels but went with the Rays 57DR since I won't be tracking the car (not ballers like some you folks here). Had many sets of Volk back in the days.

not today but a recap of the weekend. Washed it on Saturday and had another neighbor come and talk to me about it. "how do you like the Z? I didn't know you had one.... I was looking into them....."

Sunday went to the ZONC Annual Car Show and displayed among all other Zs and Datsuns. Met some fellow new Z owners.

How do you guys get away with not displaying the front plate? I thought it was mandatory in Cali?

we actually spoke about this among ourselves on Sunday haha. There was 1 new Z that had the tow hook license plate bracket. I might go that route soon. The police on congested Bay Area roads don't often cite people for this and a majority of cars on the roads are EVs/Teslas, 95% of which don't have a front plate installed. So if they don't, some feel there's no reason to have it on. I don't want to drill any holes. if I get pulled over I'll just state the dealer didn't provide the hardware.

I got pulled over in my BMW for no front plate while driving to L.A. 8:00 AM in the morning, just me and my BMW and the CHP officer (clear sight to my car). He got me with a fix it ticket, so I've since bought a tow hook license plate bracket for the BMW, which I drive much more. If I was to drive the Z regularly I'd want a tow hook bracket.

Did my third oil change. Got just under 7k on it. Will probably do twice a year no matter what the milage.

Kind of bummed out though. I got the Z1 under-shroud so it would be easier with the "service panel" to do oil changes as the stock plastic one has to be bent down or completely removed.
Sure the added protection of the Z1 being metal is nice but there is a flaw with it. The homeycomb shaped vents do not eject dead leaves. So here I am having to take off the under shroud anyways every oil change to clean out dead leaves.
There are 11 bolts to take this piece off and they are LONG bolts. My fingers / hand were cramping up so bad after removing / cleaning and putting this thing back on. I need to invest in and electric socket wrench or a new under-shroud. This is not fun and I don't want to have to do this all the time.

Anyone else with the Z1 having this issue? I posted in the Moshimoto thread too. I may swap to one of those.

I have the Z1 but haven't installed yet. There are some slight differences between the NISMO version though, hence going with Z1's, as both Mishi nand CZP said theirs didn't fit the NISMO. Haven't installed it, or really familiarized myself with it. Assuming some shapes/holes are slightly different between the two, nothng of consequence...ASSUME.

Is there a way to add mesh or something to keep things from getting in, or is it that they're coming in through the grill and not being able to get out? Kinda nuts. Pay ~$400+ for something to keep you from removing the shroud and still have to remove the shroud. Well done again, aftermarrket. I didn't do a ton of stuff to my 350's, but I don't remember any of this hassle with fitment and function on anything.
