No error codes unless the tire shop messes up a TPMS sensor.

As long as your PSI isn’t too high, typically around 50, and not too low, your car will tell you (I think my 350Z’s dinged below 29), you’re fine.
30’s lower than what I run front and rear (34/36), and its on the low side for daily driving (especially in a cold climate if 30 is your warm pressure), but there’s a pretty wide range of good PSI for daily driving.

The sticker says to run 30? Does it say Min 30? That seems low. You're better off mid-30's..

You guys know you can set your optimal tire pressures in the HUD eh.

It was set at 36/36

I changed it to what my door panel recommended for stock performance wheels & tyres. 35psi for the 255 R19 fronts & 32psi for the 275 R19 rears

Now that I upgraded to larger widths, I still kept the cold psi at 35/32, however I've been told to keep it higher.

I decided to get a laser thermometer to help assist on how much wear the tyres are getting. If the tyres are hotter on the outside then the inner, I'm underdeflated, if the center is hotter then the outer, I'm overdeflated. If I'm near neutral on all three zones, I'm perfect psi. Keep in mind I do this after warming up the tyres. It's a bit more complicated and depending on the laser, could cost you, but I think it's a great investment

No offense meant, but I think you have the pressures swapped around for your setup.

My recommendation with 19” Rays and:
255/40R19 100Y front
285/35R19 100Y rear
(Or your 255/30 front and 305/30 rear is totally fine)

Would be: 33 Front and 35 Rear. (230F / 240R kPa) Note: this is cold. It will fluctuate as the tires heat cycle.

It will make a world of difference to the handling and road noise to get the balance front-to-rear right.

Disclaimer: Run whatever you feel is right for your driving style. Here I’m giving my guideline for Summer performance tires on a staggered setup. Such as: Pilot A/S or Continental ECS02.

If you run an ‘all season sport tire’ or a square setup on your Z the above does not apply.

I also think 30psi is low. Just change whatever psi want to run in the TPMS Hud, and it warns you when it drops below that.

I run this for grip, since the power is going to the rear. Going around turns while keeping slight throttle to eventually ramp up, your rears will definitely see more heat, increase of tire pressure, and you'd also want more of the contact patch when it reaches that optimal tire pressures.

I know the drift community recommends higher PSI in the rears.

That setup you suggested is for
A) fwd setp
B) drift missile

Is it possible or safe to have the front tires and back tires with the same sidewall number of 30? Here is what I looking to buy:

265/30ZR19 - Front
305/30ZR19 - Back

If it's not safe to have the same 30 sidewall, I might look at the front tires of the 35 sidewall.

265mm x 35% = 92.75mm sidewall

This is negligible to manufacture and tire stretch on the rim.

To put it shortly, the more radial% the more absorption your tyres can take from ie. potholes. Also psi dependent, low psi on low radials high chance of rim scraping.

If Yokohama made AD09s in 305/35R19s, I would've got those instead of the 30s

I'm not telling you to get anything, it's up to you. What's the application for these tyres? You want rubber bands for your stance car, performance, or beefy rubber?

These are questions you'd have to ask yourself, and maybe talk to an actual tyre specialist

Think of it as the tire profile. The 35 or 40 is a percentage that determines the “thickness” from the street to bottom of the rim. The smaller you have the % the cooler it looks in most peoples opinion. But there are drawbacks to thinner sidewalls.

305*35% and 265*40% are both the same = about 106. That’s why they’re spec’d like that. But having them both 35% wont be very noticeable visually, but you would feel it more on uneven roads. And have less protection for your rims if you run over something. Personally I’d run the top numbers you gave.

Cool with me if you feel you get better grip at a lower rear psi.
I definitely don’t have fwd on my RZ34 and I don’t drift or track the car (yet).

When the tires are up to temp, I might use the LSD to help ‘steer’ really tight turns though… I noticed the warm pressure for me runs at least 34 front and 36 rears. The car handles great. I will try your laser thermometer trick to check where I am after a spirited run on a hot day. Maybe you’re right. I’m not afraid to try it and admit if it works better. I’m a pragmatist.

Did tirerack.com drop the category ranking/comparison charts or am I missing it? In the past you could see all tires in that category lined up, or at least the ones with enough miles/scores to make the list. I can see individual rankings, but not the whole category.
