I think there are a few people that have this rattle going on. Myself included. It comes and goes. Some people say its behind the traction control button. Mine "sounds" more like it's in the door below the side mirror. Not constant and very low-key when it happens. Only happens over rougher road for me.

I have a rattle on the passenger side and I am pretty sure it's this trim piece. I will be popping it out and applying some foam tape under it. If you open the door and just tap that piece with your finger it will rattle/buzz. I noticed it on both sides of the car but mostly the passenger side. I hear this sound at certain speeds going over rough roads. I have also tapped on the lower portion of the door card and felt a bit of a rattle/buzz so it could be multiple plastic pieces rattling.

I have had people tell me it is the trim on the dash behind the steering wheel in front of the gauge cluster display but I don't believe that is where my noise is coming from, could be wrong. I am away from my Z for a couple weeks but will be a priority to figure out when I am back with it.

I think we all have this, I wish Nissan would have made that piece out of the same soft touch as the rest of the dash.

I have been thinking about what I could do, the only options I see in the aftermarket are the various covers that sit on top of it, which I think may cause even more rattles, but who knows.

I saw one that looked great but it was like $500 or something??? I can live with it for that much lol. But it did look nice. Alcantara with red stitching I think

I was going to be the test rat but my wife put the kabosh on it. She does not do that often (nor me to her) but when she does I rarely die on that hill.

Previously I had the full front, a-pillars, roof, and hatch covered in PPF. During that time I had the shop leave off the Z emblem from the rear (by the passenger tail light). I finally had two days off in a row, so I spent yesterday and today detailing the Z... gave it a wash, a clay treatment, some light polishing, and applied 2 coats of Griot's 3-in-1 Ceramic Spray to the paint, grill, wheels, and calipers. Paint feels smooth as silk, and looks amazing, but most importantly it finally has some decent protection. I also ordered new valve stem caps because some kid stole one of mine.
