As I’m slowly building my Z my next step on the list are downpipes. I originally was going for b6a resonated lower downpipes but I see spool performance has theirs on sale $200 for the 3 inch race ldp. I’ll be saving about $225. Don’t know if it’s worth getting the non resonated to save more than $200. I’m aware it’ll be louder and raspier but no idea if it sounds “worse” than the resonated ones. Wanted input on someone who has either ldp.
Note: will be paired with awe track catback but I do have the conversion kit. Ams cold air intake coming in.

I originally paired Spool 3" resonated LDPs with my AWE Touring. I found it too loud with poor fitment so swapped them for B6A 3" resonated LDPs which were better in both regards. With everything being 3.0" diameter, fitment needs to be spot-on; even with the B6A I still had to chase down a few AWE fitment rattles. Doing it all over again, I'd probably go with a 2.5" setup (MoPowa resonated LDPs).

I tried giving Spool the benefit of the doubt since they were local to me at the time in Houston, but their customer support was terrible (check out their reviews on Google Maps). I got what I paid for and it cost me in the end.

I had both sets ceramic coated in Cerakote Titanium. Note the resonator size, welds, & bends.

I'll give a plug for B6A. Really good customer service! I have the resonated lower downpipes paired with AWE track exhaust. I wouldn't want anything louder for aggressive driving but it's whisper quiet at low rpm. I don't like the slip fittings and clamps of the AWE exhaust but if you fuss with it you can get a good fit. The tips are awesome!

I have the 3” race spools - fitment is spot on except for the support brackets and the passenger side o2 sensor - the o2 wire harness is barely long enough to reach and the support bracket mounts are way off and do not mate up to the factory brackets. I have been running these since may without any issues.

i suggest going with something other than spool - like AMS or B6A

Sound is awesome. It’s louder than stock (but not that much) with a much more aggressive note especially at WOT. she fairly quiet when cruising.

tuning is coming - shooting for first week of December.

I fell for the Spool discount. Resonated LDP. Took 4 months to arrive, and I'll confirm they are ridiculously loud, but the bigger issue is that the tabs that connect to the transmission via brackets were way off. I think they were probably for one of the Infiniti models. I wasn't able to attach them at all. And while I may be wrong, I blame the lack of correct bracing attachment points for some extra vibration and noise around 2K RPM.

If I could do it again I'd go B6A or even AMS.

I had the opposite experience with Spool. I first purchased the 3 inch resonated downpipes (full). Fitment was ok, not perfect. I'd say 75%.

I then sold those and bought the 3 inch "megaphone" they offered (full). Fitment is 95% spot on. Sound? Even better, imo.
