It's because the Z makes so much torque downlow and with a suspension tuned for comfort. Tires alone won't fix that.

At least get a set of adjustable sway bars. You can adjust them to balance the oversteer/understeer.

I have never had a point with my stock tires that they have really scared me in the wet. My first 3 months of ownership was a lot of rain and even a few small water crossings.

I run my tire pressures at door jam recommended numbers (when warm) and really haven't had an issue. It was even faster around a track stock than I ever managed in my old GTST skyline. The boatyness is what's off-putting, but overall not as scary as your think. The tires are "fine"

Having said that... I will be going to PS4S once they are done (soon)

Good comparison on your end. Nismo Dunlops are only 200tw vs the all-season PS4AS at 540tw, obvious the much softer tread will wear way quicker, those Dunlops are max summer. Surprised, though the PS4AS performed that well on yours being the 540tw 'hard' compound, but they should have longetivity, 40K miles should be doable.

I've been using, for street, the Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06 + on several cars and impressed also on overall all-season grip. So, it looks like the PS4AS and this are almost equally impressive, for street and some track.

Tire rack comparo all-season:
The Dunlops are just an old school super sticky tire. It uses that sticky compound to make traction. The PS4AS is also a very sticky tire... but done so with chemistry. Michelin's rubber compound is a composite rubber/silica/synthetic mixture with sunflower oil filler that is both very grippy and long lasting. It's also kind of why they're so godawful expensive. That compound is pliable anywhere above -20F and doesn't become dangerously soft on road temps until around 130F. This means you get decent performance at most any realistic temperature.

I could go on about the tech specs of the PS series of tires, but it's one of the few rare examples where 540tw is not indicative of a very hard, low performance tire. The chemistry involved in the design allows that hard tire to grip like it's a much softer tire, and it doesn't lose performance with thermal changes or in the rain. Aside from that new CrossClimate purpose rain tire, the PSAS4 held the title for world's best rain tire for going on 6 years.

PS4S are very good. Although, the Dunlops on the Nismo are great at the moment, but tire life is already a factor at just 2k miles.
Not so sure the PS4S would be a good option that fatal accident in Japan in a Nismo had PS4S on, I'd probably go for AD09, Cup 2 or stick with the GT600.

But here is my take and I'm no Max Verstappen here but being gentle with your right foot is very important, you learn that very fast on track and even better with SIM Racing.

Interestingly, I had PS4S on when I had my major crash. That's a great point. There are better options than the PS4S when it comes to maximum grip for sure.

Wider wheels with wider tyres.

19x10.5 fronts with 275/35, or 285/35, and 19x11 rears with 305/30, or 305/35 on A052 or AD09 Yokohama's

bring the psi down to 32 front and 30 rear once they're warmed up, could go less if you want, but watch for outer tire wear

should have pretty decent grip after

435 RWHP on my 2024 Z Performance and Michelin pilot sport 4S work great like they did on my 512RWHP 2009 370Z (Twin Turbos) .
Can u use the launch control and not worry about the shift to second?

I've driven fast shit my entire life. 500 hp mustangs, etc. No car has ever been as sketchy as this one. The car is downright dangerous and yes I am to blame because of my mods but I still expect a tire to do the damn job.

If you read my post, I don't have 400 hp. Going sideways in 2nd gear at 50 mph is a serious problem. As posted above, I had great success using the G2's and that's probably what I'll switch to. Warm or cold potenzas don't matter. Obviously these tires are trash as many people have agreed to on here in the comments. Which is fine, but don't charge a premium for junk ass tires that don't hook.
I'm still working out similar issues and adjusting my suspension geometry is moving the car in the right direction. It's also lowered.. but this is a GT car begging to be a sports car and it needs all the help it can get.
