I remember when I used to get a way with that.....New Florida law, anyone over 100MPH goes to jail, no questions asked. I don't know how long before the jails are all filled up:crackup:but it has to happen soon.
Ha yes definitely didn't intend to go that fast, nothing but straight away, not a car in sight, a little too much though. Was thinking about that this morning

125mph off a dig. Left a stack of show me's in the dust. Dude in a beater pulled up at the unfortunate next light asking what year, with a "that thing's sexy AF" comment 😁

This post will probably start a lengthy hand wringing session about break ins with my Z bothers here. I'm with this guy, break it in like you are gonna drive it. Been doing that 40 years and I've never had an engine failure. My first launch control in my Z was with 12 miles on the odometer :giggle:

Cheers!

I'm all the time driving and people haul ass and get right on my bumper/pass me at a high rate of speed/take off super hard at a light...in a truck/Accord/beater...when I was going to the meet and I had my son with me, it was a stock Camry...I told my son, "Everyday....just like that..."

Tundras and F150s were the worst offenders when I had my S550.

I thought 500mi was the magic number for most break-in periods; but hey I learn something new every day here. Someone says journals, I think "okay who's watching me?"

Pretty mild though wasn't a launch, more a gradual pull to see who was going to try keeping up with me. 😊

Sounds fine to me. Honestly, driving on the track is one thing, but on public streets it’s a different situation, with other people around and plenty of hazards. Many years back, a good friend of mine, only in his twenties, went into “the danger zone” with his Vette and ended up six feet under. Ironically, he lost control at a very high speed and plowed into a tree, in of all places, a freaking cemetery. 😔

I've been super confused. 6sp, my car had 250 miles on it when I got it. I figured, I'd make ONE pull just to check it out and take it easy for the 1st 1200 miles or so.

I made a pull and was so giddy, I came home and got my son to take him for a ride. 24° outside, from a roll it kept the tires lit through 2nd gear and spun hard enough through 3rd that I had to modulate the throttle due to a curve in the road.

However, it's never pulled that hard ever again. Even in the same temps and now I have the Stillen tuner on it. It's not slow, but it's not the light switch it was...

Anyone else noticed this?

Heh, sounds like Texas. ;) Being in a bright red Z, I get all sorts of beaters, especially with exhausts and large tomato juice-size exhausts and anime illustrations plastered all over. Gunning their craptastic rides at stoplights. That, and jacked-up pickups, sounding like a Freightliner, itching to take somebody on. I just turn up the music and ignore them . 🙄

Dammit man! I guess I should be thankful they haven't revved at me yet, I'm not sure I could hide my expression! 🤣

My experience in Texas too with my old Mustang GT. Just so happens there was a puc

Texas can be some kind of special. I moved there with a 2018 Mustang GT performance pkg 6-speed, Roush x-pipe resonator delete. All I wanted was to look & sound cool.. lifted truck boys weren't having it 😆

Probably you've become used to it.
I recently test drove a new Z 6MT and was shocked by how "violent" the acceleration felt to me during a roll-in on 2nd gear.

Of course, after a few weeks of ownership I would be less impressed.
Or getting whooped by a Tesla or Rivian, or being in bad weather and getting whooped by anything AWD....

Yup, I definitely did a few launch controls and many high RPM exits out of corners and on-ramps just in the first few hundred miles of Z ownership.

Keep telling myself I will do transmission and diff fluid soon (at 10k+ miles now) just to be safe but keep putting it off. Might just wait till 20k.

Either way that will just be precautionary as I have had zero issues so far.

You'll be shocked at how gross the differential fluid already is.
