Z1 aluminum W-brace has arrived! Just ordered it on Friday when it went on sale. Trying to get a bit more clearance between the AWE 3" pipes and the factory steel W-brace.

Aha!

I keep reading about the ANC and ASE, I've been wanting to turn these off and see (hear) the difference.

Well. I found where someone disconnected this speaker under the dash. Hell I didn't even know that was there lol. Took me about 1 minute to get myself situated and find the speaker and then 10 seconds to get it disconnected.

All the low speed noise I've been blaming on the tires--gone. Exhaust is way quieter so I have to get used to that. Downshifting with the rev match--you definitely don't hear the engine like before.

BUT!!! You S550 Mustang guys that disconnected the center speaker in the dash will definitely understand this--the stereo sounds so much better now. Not a super huge amazing difference but if you actually "listen" to your music, the mids/highs are much cleaner. You can hear the space between the notes. Vocals are better. Bass is still lacking and cranking up the settings to full didn't really help...I was hoping the sub would be better but no dice.

But hey, for a 2 minute mod that's free...didnt even have to zip tie the harness out of the way...I'll take it.

Heading outside to do mine now. I already have ASE disabled, but ANC remains enabled. Does this speaker handle one or both of those things?

I'm not sure if it does one or both.

I heard a big difference in the quietness initially but I think your brain adapts quickly lol...I took the wife for a spin and she could tell...she doesn't ride with me often. But by the time we got back I was used to it and was thinking it wasn't as big a difference as I initially thought lmao

Stereo does sound better though, I can still tell that much hahaha

Curious what differences you hear. If it does ANC, I would think you could tell a difference. With the low speed difference I can hear, I "think" it does ANC as well.

Got mine unplugged. I'll report back next time I drive the car. If I like it, I'll probably have the dealership disable ANC next time I'm in to minimize the processing power it uses.

I'm going to do this for sure, but it definitely plays through the Sub too though.
I haven't gotten around to getting it disabled yet, and the new Sub is completely unusable while driving.

Ah. I knew it played through the sub too, I had forgotten about that though.

I wonder if those new DSPs can fix that?

Got resistors to try out the hood popper delete. Next step is to get a couple of connectors. My plan is to try it out on my car for a bit. Assming all goes as planned, would anyone else be interested in a set? I got 10 resistors, so unless I screw something up I'll have enough to do mine + 4 more sets.

I guess this is one more thing to love about my Sport. Sure, it doesn't have a lot of the handling and other enhancements of the Performance, and particularly the NISMO version, but it doesn't have either the ANC or ASE. Also, I was surprised to recently learn here the NISMO doesn't have the capability to pull up an oil pressure gauge, whereas even the "lowly" sport does. Weird.

Haven't confirmed this, but I think the lack of an oil pressure is specific to the ATs regardless of model.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Mine is a Sport AT. I was really surprised the current NISMO AT lacks the oil pressure capability.

Nissan really jacked the screens. I normally run on this one so I can keep an eye on oil pressure, but I also flip to the other one from time to time so I can see my avg mpg.

Speaking of oil pressure, I picked up a couple of these Bosch oil filters. I have been running Mobil One M1-110A but when I was researching, a lot of people liked the Bosch over the Mobil. One person even said the start-up/idle oil pressure was a little higher. I DESPISE the low oil pressure/solenoid system of the Nissan. Ironically I think Bosch is the one who makes the solenoid lol...

These filters are also half the price of the Mobil One. I mean $13 for an oil filter isn't life-altering but I also think it shouldn't cost THAT much.

But I just changed my oil so I'll have to wait until probably the end of the year to report back

EDIT: Apparently these and the M1-110A have the wrong psi bypass valve....
